The timing of this convention couldn't be more serious. As thousands of members pour into this convention for the first time filled with excitement and hope for our great organization please remember a few things all you cynics.

Stop tearing our union apart! Stop the hate campaign and distortion of the facts for political gain.

Many new faces are there in hopes of continuing to build our union, don't rain on their parade and crush their optimism.

Campaign with spirit and might for your candidate but DON'T destroy what we have. Don't tear it down to make yourself look good.

Take pride in our accomplishments for the members and protect our great, powerful, aggressive namesake.

Unions are under attack all over this country in a big way like never before and we should not be attacking one another to the detriment of our union. Look in the faces of all the newbies and let their anticipation fill you with pride that they would partake in this great process. Take them by the hand and lead them to a better place where they can share ideas, gain knowledge, create power and mobilize the working class while they are being pulverized by corporate America.

We are the Teamsters! Act like one, don't destroy our union, don't rat out a fellow member, protect the group, remember the Oath, teach the new brother or sister and DON'T TAKE WHAT WE HAVE FOR GRANTED!!!!!!!!
