In Topic: Hoffa supporter gets $1000 fine for photoshopped depictions of Pope/Gegare
July 02 2011 - 11:03 PM
Before any of you give these two any credit, why don't you ask them to tell the truth first. I watched the video as well as attended the convention so let's go through it truthfully.
1. There is no record of any $1,000 fine for photoshopping. All charges and fines are listed in great detail at www.ibtvote.org and if you are really interested in what has happened, I strongly suggest that you read it for yourself. Yes, Rome Aloise was fined for campaign activity, this had nothing to do with photoshopping. You will find that the general premise is that all campaign material is untouched by the election supervisor. You can find Rome's charges there but I have yet to find anything about a photoshopping fine, post a link if I am wrong. Besides, TDU has been photoshopping Hoffa for nearly a decade now, if that is a fineable offense, then they owe about $576,000.00, they better hope it's not true.
2. The item that was "flagged in front of everyone" wasn't anything to do with photoshopping. It was one of Gegare's flyers that he had printed without the union "bug" on it meaning he used non-union labor to produce his material. That was highly offensive to all of our GCIU brothers and sisters to say the least but a typical display of the degree of Gegare's "union principles"
3. The delegate they refer to as getting mike time and getting shut off by Tom Keegel is only a half truth. This was during the part of the convention that was scheduled to discuss the freight industry. TDU Delegate David Thornberry spoke IN FAVOR of the freight resolution (who I might add was the only TDU person to speak about anything the whole week) he then started speaking about UPS and was clearly out of order. The UPS discussion was set for Thursday which everyone in the room knew including Thornberry. He was aksed to stay on topic once and continued to talk about UPS instead of freight. I don't think he bothered to say anything during the UPS discussion the following day. My opinion is that he was trying to intentionally get shut off by continuing to be out of order. By the way, Hoffa delegates in red vests who were out of order were also asked to stay on topic during the convention.
4. For them to say we didn't talk about any serious problems or any giveaways that have taken place is a lie, see the comments of Pat Flynn for this issue. The truth was discussed, they just didn't hear what they wanted to hear. Central States Pension WAS specifically discussed in detail such as how the UPS negotiating committee couldn't get from Fred Gegare or the fund in general a dollar amount that they would need to negotiate to restore the fund, nothing. Where were these guys when that discussion was going on, sitting in their room recording this video is my guess, too bad because evidently they missed some important information.
5. I don't think these two saw much of anything. Everytime I had to leave to floor to deal with phone calls from home, there they were sitting at the Sandy Pope booth. Did their members send them there to be delegates or to be booth sitters?

He definately gave it all he had. I was able to talk with him a few times the past week and he was very easy to talk to. He didn't care who you were or what title you did or didn't carry before talking to you. Sad when someone you talk with only a few days ago is gone. RIP

In Topic: Aaron Belk on Gegare Slate

So Mr. "TDU SUCKS" Gegare puts Ron Carey's personal assistant on his slate meeting yet another of Sandy's prerequisites for her grand entrance onto the Gegare Slate right before the convention. Mr. Belk, how do you look at yourself in the mirror, on one hand you help organize a Ron Carey Memorial, on the other you team up with Gegare and Slawson. I am assuming you were crushed by the death of Ron Carey, ask Brad Slawson Sr. how he took the news. I can't wait till he tells you how he stopped the Joint Council Meeting and announced the "great news" he was just texted that "Ron Carey is Dead and I can't wait to piss on his grave". It was yet another grand display of his class and brilliance that makes him such a fit for the Gegare slate.
I myself am no fan of Ron Carey but will never take pleasure in someone else's demise.
A little advice for Sandy and Aaron.....when your newly formed slate takes the memorial trek to Ron Carey's final resting place, don't stand downwind.

As far as Galvan goes being the latest and greatest Gegare addition to the "brain trust" there is a difference between an international VP who changes jobs and positions while representing members the whole time and a guy like Galvan who simply walks away from the members whom have trusted him to represent them and leaving them to blow in the wind. After he had the extreme cowardice to turn tail and run, he now proclaims he is some sort of hero and is a steward again, does anybody on the Gegare website do any fact checking at all? You may want to revise that page.... who am I kidding, why would Gegare bother with credibility at this point, that ship sailed a long time ago and he didn't even make it to the dock.
