It's too bad that by the time the ballots get counted, that fat ass Eric Tate will have gotten more than two years of salary by stalling the DOL. Hopefully he and his whole crew will be voted out.

Lets hope that Walt does have his slate ready to go.

Good thing the DOL will be monitoring this election.  They should have monitored the UPS TA.  Over 40,000 UPSers didn't receive ballots, most of them in the regions where the 18 supplements and riders were rejected.  I'm sure the IBT new that if they didn't bust this trick the whole thing would have been voted down.  Bastards!

Wow, this gives Walt Johnson another shot at a FAIR election. Judging by the post, it states there was a settlement. Usually when that's said it means that both parties agreed to the re-election, rather than have the judge issue his decision. I say Walt Johnson takes another shot at taking this Local over. There's no better time than now!! Last few meetings our members were not happy that they voted the incumbents back in. Promises have not been kept. Maybe now they will see what Walt was saying in his campaign is true, we need a new beginning cause this local is not headed in the right direction. They said Walt and his slate were inexperienced, well the "experienced" slate doesn't seem to be very promising. Why not go for a new leadership and get the word to Walt Johnson that we want him to run again and this time he will win this election!!!! Show your support and post what you feel about this new piece of information that has come out.

Vote the Walt Johnson slate!!!!

Now there will be another election as stated in this post. Means we get Walt Johnson to run again and make sure he gets the win.

When will the election be?  Soon?  I keep hearing rumors of a trusteeship and business agents getting in trouble at the local.  There was a lot of pissed off members at the last meeting. Can the International go ahead and take the local if it keeps going bad?

Walt Johnson's facebook page for his slate is still up, but he hasn't posted anything since December.

This is what was posted on the DOL website last year. But there hasn't been anything posted regarding 848 since that, so I don't know where Truth4u got his info. Maybe a posting inside the 848 building?

On October 19, 2012, in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division, the Department filed suit against International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 848 (located in Covina, Calif.). The lawsuit seeks to nullify the union’s December 1, 2011 election for president, vice president, recording secretary, secretary-treasurer, and three trustee positions and seeks a new election under OLMS supervision for those officer positions. The lawsuit alleges the union violated the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA) when the local subjected the complainant and her slate to a pre-election trial for campaign speech; failed to ensure the removal of a posted election committee decision from union bulletin boards which cast a negative view on the complainant and her slate following an international union decision reversing and voiding the penalties imposed; and by failing to adhere to voter eligibility requirements set forth in the union’s constitution and bylaws resulting in ineligible members being permitted to vote. The lawsuit follows an investigation by the OLMS Los Angeles District Office.

Got wind that the settlement agreement has been drafted up. Can't wait to see what it has to say. Walt Johnson FB page is showing a bit of activity now as well.

I'll take Johnson over Tate.  Tate had his time still too many complaints from pissed off members.  Doesn't look good if the local continues this way.

After Bakemark, the Walt Johnson slate hit up the Sysco lax yard where all the drivers there showed 100% support I'm favor of change in the local.

This is getting interesting.
