The replay looked bad. Real bad.
The way he played all season you knew something like this was going to happen. That extra umph and stretch he added to every catch made him the most extrodinary TE to ever play the position. I recall the play that ended the career of former '49er & Patriot great TE Bob Winsor. The shear will of the mind to move the body towards the goal line when your injured severly. Winsor caught a ball on about the 4 yd. line, blew out his knee on a hit and scored the last touchdown of his NFL career by desire. The four yards must have lasted thirty seconds to cover but Winsor scored.
Gronk is in a walking boot and we'll know soon how much damage was done when the MRI is examined.
Back in the day, knees were cut from top to bottom without an MRI and re-built. With todays MRI and microsurgery, down time has been cut by a thousand percent and full recovery a norm. "Water on the knee" was a career ender. Now a player can have minor surgery and be back in a week.
Gronk will be back, and two weeks is awhile to re-coop.....I just hope his ankle isn't as bad as it looked on TV.
Then, there is cortisone. A Steroid no less.
Naa. Gronk would kill someone if he ever got juiced before a game. It would be like running the bulls in Barcelona and the Giants secondary playing the roll of chaser..
Go Pats!
