Sometimes the majority only means that all the fools are on the same side.

673....this has been going on for a while...Korea also builds bridges for us....we have no steel industry....that is why Rumsfeld told the soldier that complained about unarmored HumVees that "you went to war with the army you had, not the one you wanted" the US had no manufacturer of armor plate to upgrade the HumVees. Thank you USA Chamber of Commerce, thank you goBP, thank you DLC wing democrats...you have de-industrialized , de-Unionized, and de-middle classed America

What was that American dream about?
There are some truths so hard to face, so ugly and so at odds with how we imagine the world should be, that nobody can accept them. Here's one: It is obvious that a class system has arrived in America — a recent study of the thirty-four countries in the OECD found that only Italy and Great Britain have less social mobility.
But nobody wants to admit: If your daddy was rich, you're gonna stay rich, and if your daddy was poor, you're gonna stay poor. Every instinct in the American gut, every institution, every national symbol, runs on the idea that anybody can make it; the only limits are your own limits. Which is an amazing idea, a gift to the world — just no longer true. Culturally, and in their daily lives, Americans continue to glide through a ghostly land of opportunity they can't bear to tell themselves isn't real. It's the most dangerous lie the country tells itself.

"The social disparities between the rich and the poor in the United States are now the most severe in the world. There is a measure called the Gini Coefficient that measures social inequality and the United States is at the top of the list, if I remember correctly, with China, India, and Brazil. And secondly, did you know that in America, if you are born poor, you chances of dying richer than your parents are lower now than in Europe. Europe now has more social mobility upwards."

dockman....Old Bomba???? this has been happening since Reagan, and Old Bomba merely inherited the nightmare of 30 years of failed goBP economic philosophy.......don't allow the Kochs to tell you how, when, and what to think.....kind of makes you look like one that is unable to see past the end of his own nose

Tread carefully there, "dockman"; no doubt Farley is simply passing-on knowledge that any and every "school child" is conversant with. [smile]

finally got one right, eh scabby? and docky the truth does not need excuses or spin.....just compare Clinton and Old Bomba to goBP programs from 30 years ago....they are lock step with the likes of Nixon and Reagan.....they just didn't jump off the insanity reichwing cliff that today's goBP has or that their deluded propagandized followers have..
