Will the members demand democracy or settle for more of the same sh*t? New, aggressive hard-working agents or the same old overpaid deadbeats? Transparency in ALL financial dealings of the Union or the same old BS doubletalk and darkness? An Executive Board full of fresh dedicated Teamsters or washed up bankrupt phonies? A Local than shuns the lowclass like Jim Santangello or embraces the lowclass? Is this an involved and aware membership that deserves better or an easily fooled unsophisticated membership that gets what they deserve? The opportunity to improve and succeed was made available. Thank you Walt, Nikko and all the rest for your hard work and dedication. Every single one of these Teamsters have great jobs and don't need a job at the Local like the barely-employable riff-raff there does now. It's success or suffer.

So, none of the promises made by Wally and Nikko to put new BA's in place from their group of kool aid drinkers will be filled since those teamsters that were promised said BA positions don't want or need a position with the Local?? - cool. That gives an opportunity to teamsters that have a brain and have experience in managing others a chance to do good for the brotherhood.

Sorry Mansfield but you already showed that the job was way too much for a mental midget like you to handle. No job offer from them I would bet. They want to move the local forward-for a change. Have to beg Tate again for the job, but you better hurry. Is getting rehired why you are pushing to get Gil out, loser?

I think Eric Tate's going to have a heart attack and a grand mal seizure! He is at such a fevered pitch that he could very possibly spin out. Wonder what all is going through his mind? The last two years of being the joke of a bossman? His bankruptcy? His failure as a leader? The many clowns that surround him? Yes Eric there are others to blame but really you only have yourself to blame. If you had stood up to Jim and done the right thing you could of had a job for life and done great things for our members. But no you had to make him happy, Gegare and all. Too bad and so sad. And even if you win, with all the bad news that has come out we will probably be trusteed. I now hear that even though Bergen is Jim's b.itch even he can't save you. Lose and lose, no matter what.
F Mike too. Everyone knows he too is pushing to get Baltazar s.hitcanned. Mike was no better even though he actually showed up at the office and wasn't a lush like sister Gil.

Its looking like Dec 1, 2011 is going to be a big day in local 848 history. Regardless of all the unethical/illegal tactics used by the

Do-nothing slate during its campaigning, Tate and his band of useless, illiterate and absent BA's/Eboard members are gone. Eric didnt create the mess, but he certainly did close to nothing, to improve OUR local.

The december general membership meeting should be real interesting.
***Brothers/Sisters, leave your kids at home for this one (they shouldn't be there to witness grown men cry)

If Tate and his band of losers actually pull off a win somehow then I'll know that some funny business took place. Nobody is stupid enough to agree that a failed local, after their failed longtime chief gets his ass kicked out the door, can continue a downhill slide. Nobody agrees with the total line of bulls.hit they spew, the lack of representation, the drinking on the unions account, the pay raises, the lack of accountability, the unexplained finances, and to top it off the bankrupt leaders! Nobody is that stupid.

Mike is an as.hole, and so is another dried up goofball from Vons. They both want sister Gil gone. In fact, the 5 Vons freeloaders employed at 848 are all as.holes! Nice that they'll be gone soon and looking for a job they won't find.

Just curious, Who ran the Election? Did they hire a company to run the Election?

It was a company hired by the Local, but I don't know the name.

At least the election was by mail-in ballots. Here it is, 2011, and some Locals still have walk-in elections. Walk-in elections are basically used to maintain the lifetime job security of the incumbents. We just saw an International election where less than 19% of the members bothered to mail back their ballot. So what percentage of members would actually plan to vote, then take the time, make the effort, and pay the expense of driving to their Local on one specific day to vote? Less than 5%?

Walk in elections are unfair and should be discontinued. Many locals have Members living as much as 300 miles away from the Local and the Teamsters Union has many drivers that are away from home for days at a time how do they vote on a specific day if they are away on vote day. These are just some instances where walk in elections are unfair thre are many more. The constitution should be changed to eliminate walk in elections.

Our ballots are sent to our home in a paid return envelop. I just voted for our Local 120 leadership and sent it in the mail. We vote for all of our officers including stewards and BAs.
