-Guys-

Kinda' got a kick out of this one. Makes one wonder if sometimes organized labor really knows which side their bread is buttered on....or if the bureaucracy's interest is in on the same page as that of the rank-and-file membership. Also interesting in light of news of the very light-skinned German Mercedes-Benz exec. to whom the "discriminatory" law proved applicable this week.

anybody that sides with illegal alien labor is a UNION BUSTER

This has to help efforts to get more work for the Mercedes-Benz plant in Alabama. Alabama's finest arrested a German Mercedes-Benz executive under Alabama's odious immigration law for not having papers:

Tuscaloosa Police Chief Steven Anderson said an officer stopped a rental vehicle for not having a tag Wednesday night and asked the driver for his license. The man only had a German identification card, so he was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

The length of his detainment and the status of his court case weren’t immediately known.

Not sure if it helps getting employment for Alabama from Mercedes-Benz or not....but (as I alluded in my first post on the thread), it sure as Hell punches holes in the claims that Alabama's anti-illegal alien law is "racist" and "discriminatory" in only targeting people of color; hard to get much "whiter" than a M-B executive from Stuttgart (or wherever in Germany) I would think.

Beyond that, the articles I've read indicated that he was driving without either a license or a passport, and that he was released when an acquaintance obtained and presented those documents for him. Given how Germany would process such indiscretions in their country (having a little experience in that area), I can't see the incident as having much detrimental impact. On the contrary, it would seem to reinforce the validity of the Alabama law.

Guess how one feels about it depends on one's perspective on illegal aliens "occupying" this country. Personally, I don't think such aliens should be "franchised" at all. They're not citizens, they have no legal right to be here, and they sure as the devil don't deserve the right to vote based on their criminal activity. And, for the life of me, I can't understand why labor unions would be DEFENDING such aliens, when they're involved in the taking of jobs that could be held by American citizens.

That said, I am aware that Leo Gerard (president of the USW) is a native Canadian, and may have a special interest in the non-enforcement of such laws.

kind of a ***** for the Democrats and amnesty supporters as September was the first full month that the reform was in force in Bama, and the unemployment rate fell from 9.8 percent in September to 9.3 percent in October, The Dockster has been preaching that this is what would happen but folks like farley have blinders on

looks like docky has been right on

PS looks like the other added benefit is the state spoending for entitlements welfare and education will drop over 18% if the trend continues--Who would have thunk it lower unemployment lower state spending by enforcing immigration laws Posted Image but the downside is there will be a lot less Democrats in Congress Posted Image

that's right eggy and with the illegal aliens out of the way , household income will go up ... that means more household spending and more tax revenue without a tax increase ...the overall economy will improve ...if we can get rid of the spendaholics ( leftists ) that farley supports ... the national deficit will drop

farley there are 14 million americans unemployed and we have about 14 million illegal aliens dragging on the economy and taking jobs ....do the math

What kind of a car rental company sends out a car with no plates?

That aside I think the 'moral' of the story is that no one will be left behind if you can't produce 'your papers'

also farley ... out of the 14 million illegal aliens in this country ... i say 98% to 99% of illegal aliens are working OFF THE BOOKS and PAY NO INCOME TAX ...the remainder of the % are working off stolen identity.... you b**** and b**** about people not paying their fair share of taxes ...but you support millions and millions of illegal aliens not paying TAXES ........... 53% of americans pay taxes if we eliminate the illegal alien problem we can increase the tax payer base above 60%.... but your crooked politicians you support don't want that.... they want dependents (slaves) to government programs so they can get votes and remain in office... they vote themselves a raise and make money off of insider trading which they exempted themselves from the law ... your buddies are getting rich by making others poor through their policies .....

again anybody supporting illegal aliens is a union buster
