Even with all of Santangello's campaigning for Fred Gegare, Hoffa still pulls in over 500 votes from the 848 members. Gegare gets less than 400, and Pope gets a little over a 100.
Here are the demographics at 848. The members who voted for Hoffa are most likely the members who are voting for the Walt Johnson Slate. The 848 members who voted for Pope are not voting for Eric due to his Satangello connections. They will be voting for the Johnson Slate. That's over 600 votes right there.
You can assume that the Gegare supporters are voting for Eric due Santangello's help. That is why he's still around.
So out of less than 1000 voters, the Johnson Slate pulls it off.
Yes, some may disagree, but numbers don't lie.
These results will be a splitting image of Local 848's results on December 1, 2011.
Walt and Nikko, keep campaigning until the last ballot is counted for.

Can't speak for anyone else Mike but I sure miss seeing you around. Great to enjoy your humor here. Better get your last visits in to the Local, because I bet you won't have the balls to come by after January 1, and say goodbye to Eric "Warren Buffet" Tate our financial genius and Jim Santangallo who you sucked off for decades.

That makes perfect sense. Keep in mind that the IBT ballots were returned before 848 Teamsters were given the Tate bankruptcy information. I bet that changed more than a few minds and motivated the unmotivated. I would expect about a 650-300 vote for Walt.
