An explosive sex abuse scandal and allegations of a cover-up rocked Happy Valley after former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, once considered Joe Paterno's heir apparent, was charged with sexually assaulting eight boys over 15 years. Among the allegations was that a graduate assistant saw Sandusky assault a boy in the shower at the team's practice center in 2002.

Can Pennsylvania State University or fired coach Joe Paterno be sued for negligence? ...
Maybe Yes, maybe No, but they are guilty of lacking morality if they did indeed know what was going on and covered it up so the team could win. Disgusting perverts.
Yet, the school still stands accused of a cover-up of years of abuse of boys by Sandusky. It is a case quite similar to that of the Catholic Church and, judging from the rioting students, football and religion share some obvious similarities.

It is strange that Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar never prosecuted Jerry Sandusky on child-rape charges 13 years ago, some speculate, because Gricar was known for being fiercely independent and hard on crime.
But it is even stranger that we cannot ask Gricar why Sandusky was not put behind bars, because the tough-as-nails district attorney disappeared in 2005. And though he was declared dead July of this year, his body has never been found.

Ray Gricar is the Centre County district attorney who declined to prosecute Jerry Sandusky after a police report was filed against him in 1998.
According to the grand jury report, Sandusky allegedly inappropriately touched an 11-year-boy in a shower in 1998.
The boy's mother told the Patriot-News this week, "Jerry Sandusky admitted to my face, he admitted it."
But Gricar decided not to proceed with criminal charges.
Seven years later, under mysterious circumstances, Gricar disappeared.
