This article only quotes Repubs responding, but I do find the statement that $53.3 BILLION is categorized as a 'tiny fraction'. In a relative way it is but aren't the Repubs hell bent on reducing govt expenses? Wasn't there a scream that Obama was interferring in Libya and now Uganda from the right wing yappers and GOP candidates?

Even though the $53.3 billion appropriations bill Graham oversees – mainly for State Department operations and assistance to other governments – is a tiny fraction of the $3.6 trillion in federal spending, GOP candidates at the presidential debate in Las Vegas last week took turns bashing foreign aid.

call him a rino, and yes I agree America needs a third Party (or even more) but if we look at how the so called Repubs have operated since RR, they have always ran up the debt. They tried to tell everyone it's too complicated for most of us the average schmuck to understand.

thanks xg21 for the truth about taxing the poor. As Farley said in another post, the right-wing think tanks are bankrolled with their lies and myths. They are trying to frame the discussion. They say:

"It's unfair that lower-income Americans don't pay income tax." Wrong. There's nothing unfair about it. Lower-income Americans pay out a larger share of their paychecks in payroll taxes, sales taxes, user fees, and tolls than everyone else." This is what Farley reminds us in his occupy wallstreet post and after years of being informed and engaged.

We need to focus on the increase in salary and bonuses of these greedy CEO crooks. Some walked away from the housing crash with nearly a billion in their pockets. (See the documentary "inside job")

The idiots want us to focus on people with kids or people who have a disability because these people don't have power.

Teamsters have courage. We stand against those with too much power and we defend the powerless. We don't scapegoat and confuse like the cowards do. We won't attack the defenseless. We know what fraternity means. We stand together and we win. We defend, protect and we win.

Well of course the debt has risen under Obama. In case the people have forgotten he has two wars to pay for under declining revenues which have occoured because of lower tax rates and unemployment due to outsourcing.

And as a PS; no President has lowered taxes while at war. It didn't make economic sense.

Did you notice that the lowest tax rates occur just before an economic decline?
Coincidence? I think not.
