Well it's a nasty piece of the world where several religious groups have been at battle for years performing horrific acts upon each other and innocent bystanders but now the USA is going over there to help out.
The question is of course why now?
Why this sudden burst of empathy?
Let's see if we can figure this out.
Obama Sends 100 US Troops to Uganda

Maybe it's because of the Human Rights violations against the gays.........
The Uganda Anti-*** Bill's U.S. Roots

NO, that would be strike one
Maybe it's to put an end to the Juju

No, that would be strike two
Maybe it's to provide safe, democratic elections
Sorry batter, strike three, it's the Oil
Oil exploration firm Tullow Oil says the quantity of oil discovered in Uganda has surpassed the 2 billion barrels that were confirmed last year. The announcement indicates that more crude oil remains beneath the Albertine Graben in the western part of Uganda.
"Rift Basins are a core play for Tullow and to-date we have discovered and identified resources in excess of 2.5 billion barrels in the Lake Albert Rift Basin in Uganda," said Mr Angus McCoss, the exploration director of Tullow Oil Plc yesterday.

Seems like oil, always the driving force..remember how Iraq, was suppose to pay us back for their liberation, with the oily stuff. Ever wonder about the Falklands' war? Read under these eleven islands, is an oil reserve, ten times that of Saudi Arabia!

Invisible Children of Uganda
Kony is the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army.
The LRA is one of the most brutal entities operating in the world today.
A violent, cult-like organization, it seeks to replace the Ugandan government with one based upon the Ten Commandments of the Judeo-Christian Bible and to improve the conditions of ethnic Acholi people, who form the core of its membership. During the 20-year long conflict between the LRA and the Ugandan government, tens of thousands of people have died and two million have been displaced. Despite periodic peace overtures by the government, and in defiance of their own ceasefire declarations, the LRA has gone on to repeatedly carry out violent attacks on civilian populations in Uganda and surrounding border zones. The LRA gained notoriety for its gross violations of human rights, such as rape, torture, murder, abduction of children for the purpose of making them either child soldiers or sex slaves, and vicious mutilation.
United Nations Humanitarian Affairs head, Jan Egeland, has described the LRA's activities as being akin to the worst form of terrorism in the world. In 2004, the International Criminal Court of the United Nations commenced a war crimes investigation into the atrocities committed by the LRA. A year later in 2005, the ICC completed the inquest and issued the indictments of the group's five senior leaders including Kony.

ah....the high cost of oil again.....this little foreign policy change is just one of the ways we pay for the hidden externalities of gas so the pump price does not reflect the real cost..........I should talk since I keep my boat (Union Made)....my V-Twin Motorcycle (Union Made) and my V-8 Pick-up (also Union Made) full of the stuff......I am a bit of a hypocrite on this issue because I love driving, riding, and cruising.....all of which use fuel......and I might not do so much if the pump reflected the true cost.

The Kony 2012 Story Keeps Getting More Complicated
KONY 2012 Director Detained, Org. Tied to Antigay Groups
For & Against with Jim Morrison, a news magazine on Here TV (a network that's part of Here Media, which owns The Advocate), reviewed the documentary, pointing out Invisible Children's ties to antigay organizations, such as the National Christian Foundation. The NCF describes itself as "the largest Christian grant-making foundation in the world." Truth Wins Out reports that the organization has disbursed grants to some of the most antigay groups in the country, including Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council.
Ironically, NCF, which donated $135,000 in 2009 to Invisible Children, also helps fund the Fellowship Foundation, which works in conjunction with the fundamentalist shadow organization known as “The Family.” That outfit has largely pushed Christian Ugandan lawmakers to propose a "kill the gays" bill, which would make homosexuality punishable by death.
Invisible Children's tax records also show several churches, private religious schools, and religious organizations like Legacy of a Christian Vision, and the antigay, antiabortion Malachai Foundation. Other donors include several public schools, secular organizations, and liberal individual donors, as well as celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and NFL player Jamal Williams.
Russell was also an invited guest of Liberty University, a staunchly Christian college, where he told students about how to use "extremely low-key, or stealth evangelism," Alternet reports.
Morrison also points out that while the film does shed light to an issue that many people around the world are unaware of, the film is an incomplete look at the egregious human rights violations that have occurred in Uganda and across Africa. Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni, Morrison says, is equally to blame for the deaths of thousands, as well as forcing children to become soldiers.

Just a reminder that Rush Limbaugh defended Joseph Kony, solely because Obama was trying to capture him.
Apparently sensing an opportunity to tarnish President Obama’s standing with listeners who were unaware of the suffering caused by the African rebels who call themselves the Lord’s Resistance Army, Rush Limbaugh responded to the president’s deployment of 100 military advisers to combat the group in central Africa on Friday in a segment of his radio show headlined, “Obama Invades Uganda, Targets Christians.”
