I'm hoping that someone can help me out. My son worked for UPS for two christmas seasons as a driver helper. He loved the job, and applied each year after christmas to get on permanently, either part or full time. Last year, when he called personel down at the pacific office, he was told that he was on the negative rehire list. He was very baffled. Has no idea what he did. The lady in the office can't find which driver said he should be a negative rehire, so she can't tell him what he even did wrong. She kept saying she would get back to him, but never does. My son is a nice kid, never gets in trouble, a little shy, and we can't imagine what he could have done. I am in a union myself because I drive bus. I am in IUOE 286. I know that my son is not a union member because he was temporary, but is there any way a shop steward or your union rep can do some investigating so that we at least know what my son did or did not do? My email is Jansboxxx@aol.com. I don't want to disclose my son's name on here because I don't want to cause trouble for him. It just seems that if he is put on a list which prohibits him from ever being hired by UPS he has a right to know why. He just feels very bad, and would loved to have worked for UPS for life, because he really enjoyed it. Thank you for any advice you can give.

Contact the local Business Agent who represents that UPS facility. Tell him you are a union Brother and see if he could help your son. YOUR BROTHER ALWAYS!
