All this negativity comes from the negative experience we at UPS have had with the leadership of our local union hall. They let our company use videos as a way to discipline us, they let our bosses harass and intimidate us, they don't enforce contract language and tell us not to make waves, pick & choose your battles and our hands are tied when it comes to dealing with the company. Jim Anderson knows more about safety and OSHA regulations, our contract and labor laws than anyone down at our local hall. If other people from other companies have similar problems and want real change they should contact Jim Anderson or Tony Blair at Hourly Worker Unite for Teamster Local 89 on Facebook.

I heard a disturbing rumor at work today. I was told by some friends that BA Vince was a union steward a few months prior to becoming a BA. He wasn't doing his job as a steward and a friend of his asked him to quit. He agreed and removed himself as a union steward. After being a main leader against the hall and telling members to go core membership, he winds up as a BA. I would like for Vince to comment telling me if this rumor is true or not. I am not throwing mud! I want to know how this can happen if true. The best qualified should be our BA's! Not someone that gets in because of politics! This is not a game; it is our livelihood! Would politics play a role if hourly workers got in office? How can someone that can't do a stewards job be a BA! If this is true no wonder their hands are always tied!

I am still not sure you guys are going to be able to do the job but I think you should have meeting everyone can attend and ask questions. These boards arent really good at getting the facts out. People argue to much. That is what is wrong with this country.

Out of respect for my brothers or sisters UPslug, Titan and Cantwe, I will tone down the rhetoric and just stick to the facts. It’s unfortunate that Tony & co. have to be taken to the point of rage to actually start answering questions. Whatever works to get them to address something other than Vinnie and hand-me-downs from failed campaigns of the past. ..

Also Tony, your slate cast the first stone. Don’t try to revise history. Anyone who wants to look back on the short history of this thing can see that.

In his rant, Tony chose to throw the other delegates under the bus. Even one who supports his slate (Can we get some loyalty?!). It’s a sad thing Tony has turned on all the 89 delegates other than “Thorny”, most of whom are hard-working rank and file teamsters who are well deserving of the position. Is this his idea of “hourly workers united”?! If so, he certainly isn’t maintaining the trust necessary to run a successful campaign.

I will say however, if Tony is speaking the truth about returning the money to the hall and he was indeed at the convention all five days, I stand corrected and commend him for doing his job.

Again, not all the questions were answered. Further, in his anger he alluded to the fact he has indeed set up multiple profiles on this site to increase the volume of his slate’s message and to give the illusion there is more support than actually exists.

No answer on Jim’s workday. No answer on these guys helping anywhere beyond their areas at the UPS air hub (and even that is in question according to those in their areas). No answer on anything other than Tony.

But the most disturbing development over the past few days is this:

The slate links to Unionfacts.com on its facebook site. For anyone who doesn’t know what exactly unionfact.com/org (aka Center for Union Fact) is; it’s an anti-union, pro-Right-to-Work, corporate- funded organization ran by anti-labor lobbyist Rich Berman.

Here’s the Wikipedia link to UnionFacts:
http://en.wikipedia....for_Union_Facts

Here’s a little more about Berman:
http://bermanexposed.org/

I hope this was just an act of ignorance. Either way, it’s unacceptable for anyone aspiring to run a labor organization. It shows either an extreme lack of knowledge as to the enemies we face, or worse a hidden agenda which will destroy our local and labor unions across the state. We cannot have a president ignorant to the issues or the political climate of the state and country as it pertains to labor issues. We cannot have a president who does not believe in this movement and collaborates to dismantle one of the largest, most powerful unions in Kentucky, Indiana and the country. We face the threat of having a highly anti-union governor who will make Right-to-Work priority numero uno if elected. We need a president who can face those challenges and has the courage to fight until that battle is won.

Who do they support? Hoffa? Pope? Anyone who will donate? Or is it something more sinister? A group controlled by anti-union Washington lobbyists who wants to destroy our movements and our livelihoods?

Gotta roll. Have a good night everyone!

Again, Anderson's slate is attempting to cover-up and revise history. Seems the link to Unionfacts posted by Pale Rider has been removed from their Facebook page. Good thing we have photography (see pic).

Stop trying to dupe the members. I know you feel yourself elevated above the membership, but this is simply not the case. The members are much smarter than you give them credit.

Stop supporting anti-union groups and perpetuating corporate disinformation.

Nojim I am glad you responded! However you still did not answer my questions or talk about how you plan to improve on winning against the companies and such. I see very little facts and a bunch of rhetoric. You can have your own private battle with the other slate. I don't care! But when you address me please give me info on how you plan to improve our working conditions and livelihood. You addressed 3 of us looking for information and gave us BS. What are your qualifications? How do you take on UPS? We are losing most battles at this point and time! Give me some useful info like the other slate does! Thanks!

Hey Titan. I dont think he was addressing any of us. He was saying he wasnt going to be as harsh in what he wrote beczuse he knew it was bothering us. I dont think he was asking us for any info.

I dont know about all the other stuff but the unionfacys sight made me pissed off. They tried to hide that they posted that stuff after they were called out. Im a really big union man so I pretty much decided I cant vote for these guys after seeing that.

Hey Jim, Heard you are still shopping at Walmart. Now I hear you are relying on UnionFacts for your campaign which has always been anti-union, anti=labor garbage. Nice campaign so far. Now I'm hearing you have contacted Hoffa and Hall for help. Then you are going to a Pope event. How's Tony feel about that one? Get run out of Kroger yesterday? Better get ready for a lot of that. Like to see you campaign for Hoffa and Hall in Louisville. Probably should do it from a distance.

Upslug I appreciate the comment! However Nojim said he would address facts. He didn't! It was still the same BS but using us. That was how I seen it. I see you see it another way which is fine!

As for the post, I will wait to hear a response from them to defend what was posted. I have seen they address the issues and even use their name. I haven't seen that from Nojim. Nojim stated they (hourly slate) spread anti-union, anti-labor. Isn't that extreme from what you have read and know?! Like I stated before I am familiar with guys from both sides and I haven't heard anything But PRO- Union from both sides. I am, however, waiting on a response about Vince spreading core membership and his stint as a steward plus his qualifications to fight for us!

Wish the majority was BIG UNION GUYS!!! I know I am but I will not be hasty in making a decision unless one side decides not to address issues and keeps slinging mud instead! Usually the Mud slinger has something to hide. Whether that be incompetent or avoid the issues because they are all talk and No action! So far I have heard nothing but talk and No action from one side. There has been enough No Action at work! I am tired of the Union bowing down to the company! I am tired of us losing the majority and saying our hands are tied. It has happened to much to me and my buddies! Good-luck and thanks for the concern!

Wow how many BAs are on here now. You crime fighters are way better at running your mouths than the hall. You have made several attempts at discrediting me and quite frankly not very good ones. If you think I am a union buster you got the wrong guy but I will expose the pirates for what they really are. I can not believe you insult the membes intelligence, I guess it is ok for you to accuse me of not fullfilling my duties at the convention but when I prove that you all did not attend the meeting I am a bad union brother.
I have answered questions that you have asked about me and see you have given me props for telling the truth but what about all of the BAs on here what have you done this great organization.

Where were you all during the convention meeting? The members need to know.
Why do you all think it ok to go lavish retirement partys in Evansville and spend the members money?
Why do you have to hire the guy that you voted out? Now you need him to win at the panel.
Why are Vs hands always tied? Can someone untie them please.
Why did you give V a job when he wanted everyone to go core membership? Talk about union busting.
Why do the BAs change contract language and not protect siniority?
Why do we only see the BAs at our locations at election time? Fred never comes out.
Why does Fred make 240,000.00?
Why are you all scared to go to the panels? Without taking grivances to palels managment can run ouer us.
Why do you franternize with management? Play golf, eat dinner, ride in cars around company property.
Why would you support a guy that lost 10billion in our penision fund in one year?
Why are we not up to date with technology?
Why are new stewards not trained properly? We are much stronger built from the ground up.

There's just to many things to list that are broke. How can you all fix them if you don't recognize or understand them?
Members try to tell you what is wrong and you never listen. You are only worried about a paycheck. You only acknowledge us during an election year then it only goes back to status quo until the next election.

Im sure you will hire another BA to make sure you get more votes because no one will vote for you.

Fred has had 12 years to fix these problems. You spent 6.5 million dollars last year, on what salaries.
Why would anyone want another 3 years of this mess?

UPS SLUG? That's what you guys down out the hall call us behind our backs huh? Boy ya'll realy do think your better than all us regular workers. This disconnect with what it used to be like to be one of us is sad. I hope this slate does run you out of office then maybe you can rember then what it's like to be one of us.

To mr. Jimandersonisafool I saw how jim anderson was received at kroger. The workforce stated in general how pissed off they are with the local right now. Also there were only 4 that showed support for zuckerman. They stated that now they have seen jim anderson as much as they have seen zuckerman in the last nine years. Also they don't sem to happy with with the way the union let the company weken their contract language on occurences. What's next cameras can be used as discipline oh wait ups can already do that thanks fred keep up the good work. Hope you do better at the national level then youdo at the local level as president. Lmao that's hilarious zuckerman over hoffa lmfao never happen except in freds mind. Ty for your time jimandersonisafool better known as donthaveacluebuticantype

It's pretty simple really the guys in the hall now have become very complacent. All that seems to matter is the 90k+ a year along with car allowance that they receive which the MEMBERS PAY for!! If you take multiple problems to your BA & the answers u get are... They have to get the boxes out, I can't win that, u need to play nice, u guys are just lazy & want to sit around then your not getting your $50 a month worth & it's time for these Klowns to go & give someone else a shot!!

I forgot to mention one of his favorite replys we can't do that because Alan will do this... Wake up call dipshit u work for us not the Company's labor relations mgr!! If u didn't already know these great answers came from Vinny!!

Upslug I did some investigation and also talked to some people on Hourly slate. The site was put on site as a link to show the union salaries and pensions. I looked at the site and it can be alarming. However it does show a view of how corrupt unions can be if not kept in check. I am alarmed also by the salaries and pensions our union officials receive for the lack of fighting they have done. What is also alarming is how we have 3 BA's inthe AIR district but the hall, if correct, is hiring a BA they defeat in an election to do the job they can't! As I hear, he will be part-time and do the bulk of the fighting. Is he there to win a few fights during the election and then he will be gone if they win? If so, we will be back to the same as now; NOT WINNING MUCH AT ALL! Are we carrying a bunch of dead weight at the hall?! Get rid of the dead weight and hire the new(old) agent full-time! How can you run the hall for 12 years and now at election time hire someone to win a grievance? Wake-up! There is problems at the hall for all of us! I wish I had the answer but I don't. I will keep listening to both sides and determine which one can best represent my/our interest. I wish the hall would give us some info on the direction they are going. I am starting to see the direction the Hourly Slate is going. They have given me useful info and made No stupid promises. Glad I have several months to decide!!!

Your not going to get any answers from the Hall only attacks. Their too busy looking down their nose at us, laughing at us and calling us slugs behind behind our backs. If your a slug who drives a feeder they let the company force unwanted overtime on you without going by senority, if your a package car driving slug they let UPS harrass and question every step you take, if your an air slug they let the company fire you for having the gal to dare to file a grievance, if your a Zenith or a Kroger slug they let the company fire you for whatever they choose and suspend you if you try to speak out,if your a Jeff Boat slug then they let your company dissolve your union, if your a Car Hauler slug then they let job after job disappear. They may see all of us as slugs but we're the slugs who pay their overblown salaries. You guys at the Hall can look down on us all you want but you work for same slugs you like to make fun of and ridicule. I still can't believe they would get on here as UPSLUG89 and not think everyone would not see through their little inside joke.
