I have no personal axe to grind, nor do I have a personal agenda with regard to the Local 848 election for S/T later this year. What I do want is to help the members get the complete story from all the people that plan on being on the ballot. Walt Johnson, as I understand it, claims that he has no ties too , or plans on having any TDU supporters on his slate. Yet, he has filled several key campaign organizing positions with known Sandy Pope supporters... Bull, for example was campaigning for the Sandy Pope delegate slate earlier this year. Now, from what I understand, Bull is running the campaign for the Walt/Nikko slate. Hmm, so the TDU is closely involved after all? We all saw the TDU folks handing out the Walt Johnson fliers at the May 22nd meeting, didn't we? And, who are the other 5 people filling the slate out?? When will they divulge that piece of news...at the June meeting?? I don't know my brothers and sisters, it just seems to me, that we don't have a clear picture of the Walt/Nikko TDU thing, and we all deserve one.

I agree. I am anxious to see Walt's slate when it's complete. Then, and only then, can I decide which slate I will vote for. I hope Walt is smart enough not to pander to TDU supporters to get elected. I believe that would be a huge mistake. The TDU has done nothing constructive for this great Union so if Walt shows any sign of partnering with factions of the TDU, it will weigh heavily on my decision.

So, here we are 2 July, the conference is done...when will we be told who else is on the Walt Johnson slate and how the TDU supporters play into it? I, for one feel it is a valid question. Another thread (couldn't find it) had a reply that they (Johnson people) could not 'divulge' who would be filling out the 5 positions until July because those 5 people needed to have the 6 months to pay their dues. Fine, here we are. Man up. Who else is on the slate Walt?? Nikko?? 848 has been through enough - we need a change. At the very least, we need to know if there will be a legitimate challenger to the Tate slate. No more excuses, the time has come we want to know. Waiting.....

Don't wet your pants stupid, I am sure you will find out when they are ready to do so. Anyone who would worry about this type of red herring, when the crystal clear picture of 848 is that of a local self destructing, probably has had a lobotomy. If they were 1/smart or 2/not dedicated I think they'd run, not walk, away from this rathole and dummys like you.

We should be hearing this information very soon. Change will be coming and I for one can wait a little bit to see what Walt has in store...

This guy is right. A Safeway manager would be better than the stooges Jim personally put in place, at least they would understand running a business, know how to add, subtract and even read for godsakes. Tate and his 27 inch wheels how professional. He is sooooo slick with some of his Tate Slate voting for Hoffa with the rest voting for Gegare. Jim at the controls again, shoving it to those who stupidly once covered up for him. Looks like Jim getting the last laugh with the suckers.
