Joe Republican

Joe gets up at 6 a.m. And fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised. All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry. In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained.

Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for the laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

It's noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FDIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression. Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime. Joe is home from work.

He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification.

He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to.

Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day. Joe agrees: "We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I'm a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have."

You forgot to mention that this all must have taken place in the 70's or 80's because by the time of the 90's when the cheese eating liberals took over the country and decided to ban smokestacks in the US of A, Joe no longer had a job to drive to and his father was the only generation of Americans to get a pension and Social Security. The rest of us are on our own now looking for all those lost NAFTA jobs.

Banning smokestacks sounds like a great idea to me. You could move to China or Canada if you like smokestacks and the jobs they create.

There is another suggestion. Learn a sustainable trade. Permaculture is an area that shows great promise for future generations.

Check out Permaculture on Wikipedia @ http://en.wikipedia....ki/Permaculture

You needn't be angry because you're uneducated and out of work. Permaculture is the wave of the future. This is valuable material for anyone looking for a skills that would make them employable virtually anywhere.

Have you considered meditation, medication or other remedies for your stress?

You can learn more about stress on Wikipedia @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stress

11:58pm....I have had my battles with Shaman, but this time he is right, and if you are attempting to represent another point of view, I pity you. You are a sad example to someone that listens to the lies and spin of the reichwing noise machine...and you don't have a clue why manufacturing left America....just check out your friends over at the anti-US Chamber of Commerce, where the goBPers support out sourcing and lobbied against a domestic content (this means made in America) rule in the stim bill. 11:58pm, you like other reichwingers are merely tipping the headsman so he will make a clean cut.

If you're trying to tell me that democrats had nothing to do with NAFTA and the off shoring of millions of industrial and manufacturing sector jobs... the same jobs that built the Teamsters Union then you are smoking the same liberal crack that Sherman is.

It doesn't matter what you think. You're not a real person. You're two minutes before midnight. It's Shaman not Sherman. Did you check out the Permaculture link or would you prefer to whine about not having a job? There are some great places in the San Francisco Bay Area to take Permaculture classes.

11:58pm...if you think Bill Clinton was a "democrat" then you are more deluded than I thought......Bill Clinton had the opportunity to be a democrat, but when he faced his first hurdle he gladly jumped on the goBPer bandwagon of deregulation, free trade, and monopolistic consolidation.....I hope you are aware 11:58 that Clinton, and now Old Bama are far to the right of Eisenhower, Nixon, and in many areas, even Reagan.

New Sexually Transmitted Disease Warning

Worse than SARS and Bird Flu combined, The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new virulent strain of Sexually Transmitted Disease. The disease is contracted through dangerous and high-risk behavior. The disease is called Gonorrhea Lectim and pronounced "gonna re-elect him." Many victims contracted it in 2004, after having been screwed for the past four years. Cognitive characteristics of individuals infected include: anti-social personality disorders, delusions of grandeur with messianic overtones, extreme cognitive dissonance, inability to incorporate new information, pronounced xenophobia and paranoia, inability to accept responsibility for own actions, cowardice masked by misplaced bravado, uncontrolled facial smirking, ignorance of geography and history, tendencies towards evangelical theocracy, categorical all-or-nothing behavior. Naturalists and epidemiologists are amazed at how this destructive disease originated only a few years ago from a bush found in Texas.

So true, we, as an organization or Labor movement dont do enough to promote what we have done while we get ripped apart by those that exploit working people.

and we're left competing with imported illegal labor which the left defends ...

Dockman please dont take what I say here as showing support for republicans. It wasnt my intention to do so. They own 50% of the blame for the destroyed American middle class. Who do you think let that illegal work force in? Why?

My post was written to point out the dangers of liberalism and capitalism and that the left has an equal share of the blame with the right. Some people refuse to see and accept this.

Our country was destroyed by party-borne isms.

Liberalism destroyed democracy and changed the fabric of America just as much as Capitalism. No more no less.

I had no idea who Alex Jones was until I just Googled it. I dont go for blogs, or talk radio and television.

I would have though that you would be more interested in defending socialism not liberalism.
