LOCAL 315 HELP ASAP PLEASE

Hello,
Never thought i would be writing something like this
i guess with times changing and companies getting as much out from the workers to make share holders money
our local 315 is not stepping up to that plate protecting us
i have call joint consul 7 pretty got nothing

Does any one know where i can call about our local up in Washington
i can write a list of thing our BA is not doing
our biggest thing right now not show up to our Grievance meetings and not calling our shop stewart this has been going on for 3 months now
and the company is writing letters like their writing a book

i work for waste management
our local is 315 our BA is Mario

I would go to the corner of Main and Ferry Streets and I would look for the Pony Express monument. There you will find my family's name. Don't take my word for it, ask The Bull (I'm sure you know who that is). I say this to say, I know a little about that town.

I would sit down with Mario M. mano y mano. I would be up front. I would at least give him a chance to fix it, or explain to you maybe some things you didn't know (say, for example, there's something going on with his health, or he's way overextended, or whatever) before I went to anyone else.

It seems from the tone of your post while you may be involved in some extent at Local 315, you are not involved in our great, glorious, grand Union, comprised of 1.4 million Members, representing everything from airline pilots to zoo keepers. Brother Bob Morales who heads the IBT Solid Waste Division, has a Local in our JC. It's always better to reach out to someone at the Local level.

I did call IBT and they reffed to Rome and tell him what going on then if nothing there happens write a letter to hoffa

regarding talking to Mario we have many times this problem has been going on for years

thanks for the input would like to hear more even if you have the same problem in your barn

regarding talking to Mario we have many times this problem has been going on for years

Or are you another solid Teamster who doesn't vote, throws all IBT related materials away, wouldn't know a Officer on the JC 7 E-Board if you were standing next to him at the boat in Martinez that Joe DiMaggio left the City he was born in (the one the Yankees gave him when he retired at Yankee Stadium)... I don't know. That's why I'm asking.

Why don't you go talk to Dale? Or is he too busy settling sexual harassment lawsuits against the Local (like Santangelo) or flying Miss Vicki around on the 315 dime?

Vote for Dale! He's your man. If anyone can screw things up, he sure can!

WE NEED TO GET EVERYBODY TO VOTE,ONLY ABOUT 1,500 VOTED THAT BAD FOR A UNION THAT HOLDS MORE THEN 7,000 MEMBERS. THEIR YOUNG AND JUST HAPPY TO HAVE A JOB IN THESE TIME AND DON'T HAVE TIME. WE THE TEAMSTERS NEED TO OVER SEE THE COUNTING OF THE VOTES. DALE PAY OUT $500.000 AND THEY VOTE HIM RIGHT BACK IN?????WHAT UP WITH THAT???

Frankly the Joint Council has no authority to force the Local to do anything. But what I do know is that Aloise gets on the Local's ass about this kind of stuff and wants them to do what is right for the members. Joint Counci's get a lot of disgruntled member's calls and they have no authority to overide what a local does. The brother or sister who mentioned the election process was right on. The members decide how bad it is or good it is through the ballot box. As I recall, Local 315 just won their elections last year. Go to the Principal Officer as a group, show up at the membership meeting and demand the Principal officer meet with you there and then. Effective usually.

This local alllows Rat snitch Teamsters to follow in Supervisor trucks at the Allied Waste yard in Pacheco and snitch their brothers out via telling mgmt to lower their route standards! Dale Robbins and BA Mario Martinez do not fight for the drivers at this site they allow them to be railroaded and fired! No arbitration to speak of unless it's a friend of the Teamster Rat Larry Frazier!!!! Dale and the 315 was sued several years ago for sexual harassment from girls working in the local's office! Does this paint the complete picture of how dirty this local is? Would a class action suit against this local be possible? They do not even advise the drivers that via State law if they work 10hrs or more they are entitled to another 30min lunch break!! Drivers are not even taking their breaks now just so they can meet route standards!! This place is a nightmare!!! Help........

I can tell you that I have worked in the 315 local for years and the only thing that can save us is either Dale and Mario are kicked out which with all the BS politics and corruption in this local that is unlikely..So the other is a class Action Law Suit against the local 315 for Collusion with the major garbage companies Allied Waste in paticuilar! Mario and Dale have known for years that Larry Frazier a Teamster and now a "Rat" is following and auditing Allied Drivers at Pacheco...Larry recommends route standards that are exactly what Rick Lewis the Operations Mgr. and friend wants...drivers are disciplined and harassed to the point of not taking breaks so not to get fired! All while because Larry who can't drive anymore and should be fired because he has no medical card helps the company terminate Teamsters! And Larry actually rear-ended a Shop Steward in an audit with his pick/up who do you think they targeted to fire? The steward who wanted the Recycle unit to strike! And Dale and Mario didn't do nothing other than the norm no arbetration...It's time for a Law Suit against the Local 315 to get those Rats out and take back our Local!

Or perhaps one other solution which I dod not know if we can do, but if we were to merge with the Local 70 all this bull **** would go away! The 70 would never allow this crap to happen.....a merger to the 70 would be great, but is it possible and what would we have to do, does anyone know?

Sure write a letter, the Sun shines on a dogs ass every now and then but I wouldn't hold my breath! the only thing these guys understand is either legal action or a threat to their job like a merger or being voted out! Does anyone know when Dale is up for reelection? And who can run against him and how?

This post is right on the money. The best and only thing you can do is to get active in your local. Attend union meetings, take coworkers with you and pay attention to the business of the local. If these guys are as bad as you say they are your shop can not be the only ones unhappy. Speak up at the meetings, ask questions and control yourself and you just may hook up with some other unhappy members. The only way out with bad representation is through an election, whether you run or support others who do. Calling or writing the IBT does no good at all and they will WILL forward anything you send or call them with to your local. There is no such thing as confidentiality with this union. Good luck.

Waste is just on a letter writing campaign.
Know your contract.
Know when the next GM is.
No excuses ....make sure you have a set and ask Mario why he doesn't return phone calls.

His hands are not full! I know this guy he's a lazy loud mouth who does nothing for us! the only reason he is a BA is because he protected Dale years ago and kicked some Teamsters ass for saying **** about Dale....Mario and Dale just want to collect their $$ without fighting for anyone! The 315 is one of the richest locals in the area because they take nothing to arbetration and strike oh hell no they prefer to give in while their members are being treated like slaves!! 1500 house routes in Antioch CA, drivers are running out of CNG and garbage drivers are having to p/u recycle mixing loads which someone is gonna get fired for and I assure you it will be a teamster!

get a copy of your bylaws from your local and read up on it. it is all in there.
