It cost him Ohio, and with Ohio Gore would not have had the issue of Florida being stolen from him by the less than supreme court. I know I did NOT vote for Gore because of it. But the funny thing is that some in Ohio voted for CHENEY/bush instead of Gore over the trade issue

every once in a while you psot something worthwhile docky........those trade agreements do need to be, at least, re-negotiated, and hopefully ended. And you make my point about the corporatist democrats, namely Clinton jumping on the goBPer free trade bandwagon and passing NAFTA, and the WTO, as well as massive deregulation in the communications and financial industries. Clinton befuddeled the GOP by becomming one of them, but it also allowed the GOP to become the goBP, a toxic mixture of free trading corporate facists, media blow holes, and religous snake handlers.
And you can make a good case that Gore's free trade philosophy was a major factor in losing in 2000. It cost him Ohio, and with Ohio Gore would not have had the issue of Florida being stolen from him by the less than supreme court. I know I did NOT vote for Gore because of it. But the funny thing is that some in Ohio voted for CHENEY/bush instead of Gore over the trade issue, but they failed to see that CHENEY/bush was an even more ardent free trading corporatist than Al Gore. That is like rejecting a bee sting in favor of a snake bite.

kerry and obama are free traders too you didn't mention them ..so don't try to pass free trade off on the gop or conservatives the dems were right off in the middle of that shit .. now the dems love cheap labor both ways by exporting jobs and importing illegal aliens... at least the gop opposes amnesty and supports border control...

Dockman--

Farley's thought process is really why the Marxists and progressives have no hope on running the country--

progressives are threatening to not vote in 2010 to teach their “corporatist” party a lesson--Just like farley taught old Al Gore a lesson by not voting for him---

Now that Obama (the best hope progressives had) has been labeled a "right wing corporatist" by the nutcases in his own party--we should see a pretty big swing back to some sanity

We always see the the liberal wing overreach in politics--its the nature of the beast-and their rhetoric imprints an image of a party craving to veer left--while the democrats gain power by winning over moderates, independents, centrists and disgruntled Republicans.

You would think they would get smarter over time--but with folks like Farley out there--they are doomed for failure

I guess there is always Ralph Nader to vote for

wrong eggy, I didn't vote for Al Gore because I did not agree with his policies, any more than I agreed with the policies of GW CHENEY/bush. I guess these concepts are a little beyond the capabilities of lockstep goBPers. and a "swing to sanity"?????? you mean half governor Palin, Michelle Bachman, Rand Paul, Sharon Angle, Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, John Boehner?????????????? is that your definition of sanity? These anti-Union birthers that want to dump medicare, social security, public education????? really? sanity??? How are you goBPers keep these crazy uncles in the attic while convincing America that they are "sane" a task well beyond your capabilities.

Perhaps your tad confused and conflicted--gores free trade policy not vote for Gore and not voting for Gore because you didn't agree with his policies

You see sanity in those words Farely  Its the Marxists in you

but the real insanity is voting for someone else--allowing the folks you hate to get elected

These anti-Union birthers

You have no clue about the Tea Partiers do you Farley--A huge number of "working class" (which include union members) are part of the movement--and you keep insulting them--What the heck does that make you--a snob

and your rhetoric on Social security and medicare--no one wants to dump it--but responsible people want to save it--and the lefts rhetoric prevents sane people from doing the right thing to protect this entitlement for the less fortunate--all they want to talk about is how it doesn't need fixing because it has plenty of money--That Farley my boy is insane

as for education--even Obama has had enough--he wants to "create a culture of accountability" oh my God he is a republican

eggy. it was you that took my statement "anti-Union birthers" and applied it to the tea baggers.......so time to look in the mirror eggy. By the way when I am critical of the tea baggers you might note that it is mostly criticism of the corporate sponsers of the tea baggers like Koch and Dick Armey's Freedom Works, and the racist, facsist, seperatist elements. If the bulk of the tea baggers were ever un propagandized, they would become true populists in a heart beat and would forever spurn the cesspool that passes for today's goBP.
and I don't understand your lack of understanding of the relationship of Gore not getting my vote because of his free trade policies and Gore's loss of a manufacturing state like Ohio for the same reason.....certainly that cannot be a mental "bridge too far" for you eggy, or can it?
