The first thing to "put into perspective" is to accept the truth --
You responded to a post from a worker -- you are so trying to discredit the post without attacking her credibility.

THE IBT is organizing anyone with the ability to sign their name to an authorization card. Without regard to their well being or interest in the work place.

MASTER AGREEMENTS WORK -- these individual contracts with virtually NO HEALTH CARE CONTRIBUTIONS, NO PENSIONS AND nickel and dime increases are NOT PAYING OFF FOR SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS!

What KEVIN, JACK, MANNY, KELLER, HANSCOM, FARMER, O'NEAL AND HIS TEAM OF ROBOTIC IDIOTS should be doing IS ORGANIZING IN CORE INDUSTRIES THAT WILL HAVE LONG TERM POSITIVE EFFECTS ON THIS UNION. Instead of WASTING MILLIONS on organizing school bus drivers that WILL NOT BENEFIT FROM TEAMSTER CONTRACTS NOR WILL THEY PROVIDE REINFORCEMENT IN THE PENSION FUND.

NORMALLY, I WOULD PUT HOFFA IN THIS LIST -- BUT IT APPEARS THE OFFICE OF THE GENERAL PRESIDENT LOST CONTROL OF THE ORGANIZING DEPARTMENT SOME TIME AGO!!!

Its real easy to sit behind that computer screen and brag on the virtual accomplishments of the FARM HANDS in DC.

BUT IN REALITY - HISTORY TENDS TO REPEAT ITSELF AND THE ACTIONS OF THE ORGANIZING DEPARTMENT ARE EVIDENT TO WHOMEVER OPENS THEIR EYES AND WITH MUCH REGRET, ADMITS THE QUALITY AND EFFICIENCY OF THE REVISED ORGANIZING MODEL ARE CONTINUING TO DECLINE.


WE CANNOT HONESTLY HOLD THE LOCAL UNIONS AT FAULT FOR FAILING TO RATIFY GOOD CONTRACTS FOR SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS.

I receive many calls a week from First Student and now Durham drivers all over the country.....with questions and concerns about what is being presented to them. Sadly, two different workers on opposite sides of the country, can call about the same issue and tell me very different versions of what a field organizer has told them to expect after an election.......moreover, both of these "versions of the truth" are not even close to possibly being the outcome, even under the BEST NEGOTIATING CONDITIONS.

THE IBT IS PROMOTING UNREALISTIC INDIRECT PROMISES TO THE FIRST STUDENT AND DURHAM DRIVERS.
THEY ARE PRESENTING EXPECTATIONS THE LOCAL UNIONS CANNOT POSSIBLY PROVIDE --

HISTORY TENDS TO REPEAT ITSELF -- NEGOTIATIONS WITH THESE BUS COMPANIES ARE NOT GETTING BETTER THEY ARE GETTING WORSE. IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN ON ONE OF THESE YARDS, IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN A FORCED ORGANIZING CAMPAIGN AT FIRST STUDENT, IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE DESPERATION OF AN IBT ORGANIZER BEGGING FOR VOTES........I have seen it and it is really a sad sight to witness!
What you need to do is be quiet and listen -- because you are making real jack asses out of yourselves.

The membership of this union needs to regain control ---

The OFFICERS of this union have forgotten where they came from....and why the NLRA is meant to support the interest of the WORKER and NOT THE UNION.

No one ever said that unions are bad.....I have always told workers.....UNIONS ARE NOT BAD, PEOPLE ARE!
If you actually paid attention to what you hear people say and what you read, you of all people would know that!
I don't have to pretend to be an "indian elder", as you say, to know who you are and what you do. So it is again not necessary to mislead the membership my implying things that are not true.

Unions simply do not work for everyone. That is the truth.
That statement does not mean I am anti union.....it simply means I am smarter than you!

Unlike many this union does not intimidate me and neither do you. I am not afraid to say what I am thinking and I don't sugar coat nor dance around the truth. While unionization should be doing more than it is in this present day, it still does provide, in some instances, a secure guideline that enhances work forces in their employment wages and benefits. However, unions do not work everywhere. First Student is a prime example of a failed process that probably should have worked, but is not.
A master agreement will never be in the First Student Company, for many reasons. Mainly because there are far too many different unions representing the workers in this company. This is not going to happen. You can promise, hell you can even dream if you want to but simply stated, it just is not ever going to happen.
Unilateral health care ---- again, not going to happen.
The Teamsters union will not pick up the bill for healthcare and the First Student Companies will not buy into teamster insurance and their is no force ever to be strong enough to make this happen!

Reducing dues for a contract term [not telling the workers it is a temporary situation] to entice new membership is WRONG and it is BAD!!! I don't give shit how pretty you wrap the package, when you open it up it is still a bad deal!

Implying the Teamsters can co-exist in any form of agreement with other unions in the First companies is absurd....the Teamsters can't even get along with their own locals and joint councils. It is not going to happen.
Telling workers that with a certain number of members the Union can force First Student into the pension fund is a bold face lie.
You and I both know, bargaining in good faith does not mean the strong arm of the union is able to force a company into anything they do not want to do. Again, it is absurd.
However, this is what the workers are being told. THIS IS BAD!!! IT IS LYING!!!

Like it or not, it is what it is.

You can twist and turn it and make excuses for it all day long.....or you can get off your ass like I have and go out the door to try and fix it!

Personally, I believe in COLLECTIVE BARGAINING and I have chosen to try to fix and save....if that bothers you then I suggest you turn your head.
But you cannot and will not evade the truth, by doing so.
If the IBT were really insterested in that of the worker, moreover their own members, instead of their own personal gain.....they would put an end to the National Bus Money Pit Campaign and organize where it could benefit members long term.

Well I see things haven't changed much since my last visit to this site. I also see that our southern bell (Cow Bell I Mean) is still at her same tricks. I like it that out of the blue she attacks Dean Phinney because she has nothing else to say. Well anything that is half way intelligent at least. Or is it because she knows that, and I know this as a fact, she worked with Dean at the Kingston, NY yard. That it could be possible that Dean could honestly state that if there weren't cell phones and cigarettes she'd have nothing to do.

Sherri even had the workers in IL best interest at heart when she "Used" and I means "Used" a worker from Kingston, NY to further her anti-Teamsters goal by producing a Anti-union fliers with this workers picture. Did this worker know that Sherri was the reason that when her yard was tuned over to Sherri with 3/2 support that she managed, through her crappy work ethics and skills, to lose enough support the make the election way too close than it should have been? When you are put in charge of a campaign you have a responsibility to those people. You can't just go shopping and expect things to workout on their own. And before Sherri starts ranting and raving, I have met some of the local members from the other F.S. yards that were helping her. They all tell the same story about her work ethics. Or is Sherri's case lack of any work ethics.

Sherri just can't or won't accept that she was her own downfall at the IBT. She was her own worse enemy because she'd rather play than work. That's not how you keep a job were you are responsible to others and for others. You can't put yourself and you own fun ahead of your responsibilities as an organizer. And I use the team "Organizer" very loosely when using it. I don't think she really understands what organizing meant and the importance of working. You have NO love for unions or the IBT ever since you were let go as an organizer. For those of us who have faith in a higher being you would be considered the "Anti-Christ" of the union movement. You will do everything and anything to hurt the Teamsters and their campaigns just because you are pissed at them. Grow up and move on. Your rants are getting old and you have NO support on this board, except for a couple of your anti friends because we can all see through your crap.

How long WAS Sherri a teamster? What teamster company or local did she work for or belong to prior to her mini-stint at the International? Has she ever been on strike and walked a teamster picket? Has she ever represented a member as a steward or BA? Has she ever negotiated a labor agreement? Hell has she ever even filed a teamster grievance? All of her knowledge and expertise espoused on this website is tantamount to to the maytag repairman doing brain surgery. Before you criticize a process you know zero, zip, nada about you have to live it. She doesn't understand she was nothing but cheap short term labor. I am glad that you have stuck around to help your co workers,in order to help them you need to act as a group, here's a novel idea act as if you do belong to the union and work as a unit.Start attending your locals regular monthly meeting help your b/a understand what the company is doing that is against the cba,read the labor laws and know your rights.Are there state or federal laws that apply to a bus driver? Aren't you under more stringent rules from the dot. Come on use common sense and work together. one voice can start a revolution but it cant win it . United we stand divided we beg. Work with you B/A he or she will know more then just about any of you in regards to you CBA.Don't get put off it it takes a while for things to change F/S has been the boss without rules or regulations for a long time and they don't like change so help them and yourselves by working together,
