THIS MESSAGE IS TO THE IBT -- LOCAL 777 AND ESPECIALLY -- the idiot organizer, JON THOMAS

IN THE INTEREST OF OUR 200 EMPLOYEES AND ON BEHALF OF THE 100+ SIGNATURES ON THE "VOTE NO" PETITION DISTIBUTED THROUGHOUT OUR TERMINAL,

WE ASK YOU TO GO HOME!!! LEAVE US ALONE

WE HAVE MORE "VOTE NO" SIGNATURES THAN YOU HAD GOOD CARDS WHEN YOU FILED FOR ELECTION!

WE LIKE OUR JOBS!

WE LIKE OUR MANAGEMENT STAFF
!

OUR TERMINAL HAS BEEN IN TURMOIL FOR THREE YEARS.....LEAVE US ALONE!!!
YOU DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH CARDS TO FILE, YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH SUPPORT TO WIN.....I KNOW THIS BY THE PETITION I ALREADY MENTIONED!

THIS WEEK WILL BE NO BETTER FOR YOU THAN WAS THE LAST.
YOU ONLY HAD ONE PERSON SHOW UP AT YOUR MONITORS MEETING AND HE WAS AN ANTI --- DO YOU SERIOUSLY THINK THAT WAS NOT BY DESIGN!

PERSONALLY, KICKING YOUR ASS ON APRIL 23RD WILL BE A GOOD TIME AND A GREAT THEME FOR THE PARTY ON FRIDAY NIGHT.....HOWEVER, YOU ARE MISLEADING A FEW OF MY CO-WORKERS THAT BELIEVE YOU HAVE SOME KIND OF SHAMROCK UP YOUR ASS AND CAN PRODUCE SOME MIRACULOUS SOLUTION TO THE LOSING ELECTION THAT WILL ULTIMATELY SLAP THEM IN THE FACE.

I DO NOT LIKE THIS QUALITY ABOUT YOU, JON THOMAS. I DO NOT LIKE MY CO-WORKERS, EVEN THOUGH WE DO NOT SUPPORT THE SAME SIDE, BEING USED AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AS YOU AND THE LOCAL 777 GOONS HAVE DONE.

I WANT EVERYONE IN THIS UNION, INCLUDING ALL YOU PEOPLE AT THE IBT TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND, WE DID NOT WANT YOU THREE YEARS AGO AND WE DO NOT WANT YOU NOW.
TELLING PEOPLE THEY WILL GET A PENSION AND TEAMSTER INSURANCE IS BULLSHIT AND THE ONLY THING THAT PISSES ME OFF MORE THAN YOU CONVINCING BUS DRIVERS OF THIS IS THE FACT THAT FIRST STUDENT IS LETTING YOU GET A WAY WITH IT.

THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO WALK AWAY WITHOUT EMBARASSING THE UNION ANY MORE THAN YOU HAVE ALREADY.
LEAVE IT TO CHANCE IF YOU WILL.......

HODGKINS, ILLINOIS DOES NOT WANT TO JOIN YOUR UNION!!!

WOW finally a person with some Guts. I am truly sorry that you and your co works are not going to take advantage of the opportunity of your life time,But at least you had the nerve to stand up and tell people what you think, and I applaud you for that.Do me a favor if everything is still Wine and Roses one year after you defeat the union come back and let us know. Good luck with your Company and your Management because without the ugly union standing outside the gate you will be nothing more then a number who can be replaced for any reason including having a bad hair day!!!! Good luck cause you are going to need it!!!!

It would seem these workers are much brighter and clearly better paid than the other 26,400 of their coworkers who were fooled by the Teamsters into voting Union Yes.

I'm sure they love getting substandard pay and benefits and having no hope of improving them in the distant future. Maybe after they vote no First Student will reward them with more co-pays, higher deductibles....oh wait a minute you first need to actually have health insurance. That's right they will be rewarded by getting one more paid holiday...oh wait a minute you first need to have paid holidays. That's right they will be rewarded with a $.10 per hour pay increase.

Stacey, you know this because you pressured people in to signing a petition? Why don't you allow the vote to happen and see what people think in a secret ballot? Or are you too busy sleeping around to get the no vote out? lol

So to some scab website because we don't buy your bullshit here!

Why don't you go over and ask the Teamster UPS drivers right down teh block at the Cach facility how many of them would be making what they are making without the Teamsters. Unless you of course reap all the rewards of teh office floozy?

You sound like a no good ballsless management plant that would lick their balls and eat their shit if you were asked, you are a waste of a social security number and you should seriously consider suicide. have a nice day

Yes, let's see how well they treat you when the organizing campaign is over and forgotten...In Southern California, we have a non-union ready mix company that pulls the same crap. (Superior) When their pay is cut or their health insurance raised, they scream "Union"...when it's time for an election or to sign cards, they all back down and run scared..We piss and moan on here and disagree a lot, but I still wouldn't work a non-union gig. Especially a notorious employer like First Student. They will see just how "friendly" management can be when their campaign is over...Probably the first one's fired will be the drivers that supported a union, as per usual..

Wow. What tact..

While I'm sure your happy about your vote which secured your loss of representation and future opportunity to gain more for you and your co-workers families, in reality, your vote prevents you from making any significant gains at work. Correct me if I'm wrong, but First Student has pay freezes for all non-union barns in North America. I'll be interested to see if you and your co-workers make any improvement in your wages, health care costs, or secure any time off in the next three years. I think we both know you won't, but that is a choice you made and I'm sure you will be happy with it. In the end, know that you will be in the same economic position you are now.

Regardless of how you voted, that's the great part of America.. workers can decide to improve their lives and get on the stairwell of earning more and making significant gains over time or leave the Corporate boot on their neck and get used to having what they have and nothing more.

Good grief -- this is how you talk to these workers!!!

This same small little group dares anyone to disagree with their beliefs.

This woman defended her right under the NLRA ---- the same LAW we have all used to file ulps everywhere!
The NLRA was written to protect all the workers --- you self righteous assholes appear to believe it was only written for those who support the union.

Wow and how do you think those supporters feel now? Huh any idea?
I do like shit thats how they feel because LOCAL 777, THE IBT AND JOINT COUNCIL 25 TOOK THEM TO AN ELECTION THEY COULD NOT WIN!

Why would you purposely do that to potential members. And then thats not enough for you jerk offs, you attack a WORKER......WHAT KIND OF UNION MEMBER ATTACKS A WORKER???

Its hideous.. It was the same with the fs terminal down the road a few months back. Same local, same IBT staff and same Joint Council -- the union lost and why ---

When the IBT falls short on votes they turn to depending on a lack of participation. Typically, as in the latest South Holland election about 20% of the unit did not vote.
Well that did not happen in westmont and it did not happen in Hodgkins.
In fact, 93 % of the unit voted.
THE WORK FORCE HAS SPOKEN, JUST AS THEY DID IN WESTMONT AND THE TEAMSTERS LOST.

Forced union organizing is bad for this union. Pushing your self into a unit that clearly does not want you, trying to round up just enough votes to win. Stretching the truth, reducing dues, threatening the monitors the company is going to get rid of them.......this shit is no longer working. None the less they are still trying to manipulate their way into units to maintain cash flow. THEY spent three years.....three years trying to organize these people and a million dollars later....... 105 - 82

And no to the Stupid Bitch that said how many ever cant be wrong. That figure is way way off. Hodgkins terminal receives the same paid holidays as does Naperville with a contract. They actually received more of a raise than did Dekalb, Illinois who also has a teamster contract. The only difference is they will not be helping Joint Council 25 officials pay for their CHRYSLER 300's through the payment of DUES MONEY.

SO to the Hodgkins TERMINAL and Stacey who had the "BALLS" as you put it to STAND UP AND DEFEND HER CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO VOTE NO, I tip my hat to you.
You made the democratic process of the secret ballot election work for you and you did it without the resources of DUES MONEY.

While you all know I believe in collective bargaining and I think you all work for a shit company.......I wish the best for all 201 employees of the First Student Hodgkins facility.
Unlike UPS....where the Teamsters have been beneficial....they are not so in the First Student Companies.
I wish the best for you all.

As far as these posters attacking this worker......man no wonder they don't want to join this Union!

This non-stop anti union message was brought to by Sherri Henry.

Now I know why they dumped her ass at the IBT. Whoever at the IBT made the call to fire her should be promoted to a higher position.

Because these workers chose not to be represented by local 777 does not make this an anti union issue.

The mechanics at this location did not choose the Teamsters either.....they are represented by the IAM.

And you would be happy to know the firing agent received a 6% raise in the midst of the economic crisis......at six figures that is pretty hefty.
So congrats asshole....you got your wish and you paid for it too!

6% increase for getting rid of you... Its money well spent. I had hoped that they gave them your entire salary plus the 6%.

...and for the first time you are right about something... this thread has nothing to do with the narrow defeat at FS. Personally I think you had a hand in helping FS win that election.

To all on this thread I was the first responder to this Lady's post and I thought she was very courageous for speaking her mind, but with most posts on this site they are soon taken over by the naysayers that seem to live on this site. I am very encouraged by the union support that is written about here. But the total lack of respect written and spoke about on this site is doing nothing to help our future as a union or a thriving country.Yes we all have the right to vote for union protection but we also have the same right to watch our high paying, benefits having, TAX supporting middle class jobs given away by the same people who are happy with there management there terminal and there low paying no benefits having jobs,So please Sherri dont ever accuse me of beating up a potential member because if she was a member she would know how to stand up for her self and would'nt have to have someone like you speak on her behalf.

LOL -- no really....

I am literally LAUGHING OUT LOUD --

If taking a beating on this site will HELP just one person to STAND UP FOR THEIR INTEREST and resolve issues or STOP field staff from BEATING UP ON THE WORKERS --

I will take that BEATING six days a week and TWICE on Sunday.

NO -- The problem is I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND!

I do not agree with the position you hold.
I do not agree that it is ok to beat up the work force and attack the membership because it suits you.
I do not agree that you and people like you, drawing multiple pay checks for NOT DOING THE JOB, should have the right to do so!

I DO NOT AGREE THAT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE SHOULD A UNION USE COERCIVE, MANIPULATIVE AND THREATENING TACTICS TO RATIFY A CONTRACT!

I DISAGREE WITH ORGANIZERS THAT TELL WORKERS "I DON'T CARE IF YOU VOTE OR NOT, I GOT MY PENSION"

Even more so, I DISAGREE WITH LOCALS WHO REDUCE DUES TO ENTICE WORKERS INTO JOINING AND FAIL TO TELL THEM "IT IS ONLY TEMPORARY".

And yet one more step further, I DISAGREE WITH IBT REPRESENTATIVES WHO ENCOURAGE WORKERS TO VIOLATE COMPANY POLICIES, JUMP IN FRONT OF MOVING BUSES TO INTERFERE WITH LABOR ELECTIONS AND I AM COMPLETELY APPALLED AT IBT ORGANIZERS WHO SPEND THEIR WEEKENDS HAVING HOT TUB PARTIES AT THE LOCAL HOTELS!

The problem is that I will not buckle to the big green monster --- that I will stand up in the face of this Hoffa parade and tell you exactly what I think, do exactly what I believe is right and without fear of retaliation or a smear campaign by the likes of you. I will contest hideous behavior and will do so...

WITHOUT HIDING BEHIND A MASK!

That is the real problem -- "SILENT 1"

You know the truth -- the problem is YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
