She needs to get over her anger and move on with her life. Not everyone is meant to be an organizer and it wasn't meant for her. Instead of being mad and attacking everything Teamster she needs to find something she can do and be proud of. Tearing down the Teamsters thou doesn't meet that criteria. Saying one thing and doing another just proves that whatever she says can't be given any weight as truthful. Along with this then if what she says isn't truthful then her all her motives must also be questions as to their honesty and validity. As my Mom always said take it with a grain of salt but in her case there's not enough salt mine each year in the world to get me to believe any of her facts, statements, information, motives. If she were Pinochio the tip of her nose would be touching the Sun with all the garbage she throws out there!!!!!!!!!!

Your correct in that sherry says one thing and does another, and I believe she does it to obtain negative attention as even negative attention is attention. I hold a security clearance, and reading only few of her posts, I know she is not truthful in what she says. Holding back on sensitive or confidential information is one thing or not telling all that you might know, but what she does is spread untrue statements on t-net and flip flops. She would not be able to ever pass a polygraph and/or even a human lie detector profiler exam. Therefore, what sherry has to say, does not hold much water.

Thank you, and my friend is ok. Regarding your retirement,.. I do hope you recieve your pension check soon and I understand it is one day at a time, in what you might want to do with your time now that you are retired, but you'll figure it out within time. Now, you can work on household projects, enjoy hobbies, or travel to places you may have wanted to go, yet never had the time before or even open a small business if you want to keep working in some capacity.
I know it's an adjustment to get use to the idea of being retired,(even though I'm many years from being there yet) as most of my male friends are already retired and/or few continue to keep working beyond normal retirement years, or keep busy in some capacity. And I think that is key to keep busy in someway after retirement, for overall good mental outlook and well being in health.
When some of my truck drivers retired, some knew exactly what they wanted to do once they retired and handled it well and others didn't handle retirement that well,(after working all of their lives) and would come into the union office to talk to me about it and/or just hang around some, ask if they could help in volunteer projects, etc. In which I was always happy to see the retirees come into the union hall then. But I also wanted them to find what they want to do too in enjoying retirement, as they earned it.
Not to go on and on about this topic, as I could of just sent a quick reply, yet I just didn't want you to feel alone in that if your unsure about what you want to do next now that your retired. It's normal to feel that way, as I think for most men, after working all of their lives compared to career women, in that in some ways men although glad they are retired, also need to continue to do something to keep busy, active and feel needed, important, productive, etc.
I know this, as most or I should say all of my friends are men actually, ranging in different ages from 55-89 and they all go through different and similar stages after retirement. I've worked with men my entire life so that is why all of my friends are men and including I have outdoor hobbies in which are hobbies men enjoy too like sport fishing, big game hunting, camping and that sort of things. But I do have a good understanding how men feel when they do retire and I do hope that you spend the rest of your years enjoying your retirement, even as now it's one day at a time. Hang in there! I stil have a long time before I retire, so lucky you!

It seems when you spray the raid the roaches just all come out!
Congratulations on the appearance of yet another productive post!
I have read through the post and some things, inevitably do not change.
WINNING ELECTIONS DOES NOT MAKE YOU A SUCCESSFUL UNION ------------- PRODUCING GOOD SOLID CONTRACTS DOES!!!!!!
How many times do I have to say this. It does not matter if you 100,000 potential members if you cannot secure GOOD SOLID CONTRACTS and improve their working conditions.
You people kill me with your self righteous attitudes......ME ME ME ME ME...
That is what it is all about. Securing yourselves.
Why didn't you Yoda and you silent 1 and city truck [i have to admit, I am not too sure about you] tell this lady, and by the way I hope your friend progresses to a quick and full recovery..........that you are all the administration I speak of.
You see she doesn't know this.
I can appreciate that. As most of the people don't know who you all are.
That whole line "an axe to grind" that is real funny ---- and I will tell you why.
I ran into an organizer in the field and that is the exact term he used ------I find that rather comical because until that post a couple of weeks ago.....I had not heard that particular term.
Be careful.
and please ------ tell Dean Phinney I said hello!

Our union made the mistake of hiring her, then they corrected the mistake.
If she only understood the paradigm of organized labor as a whole she could then understand the Teamsters Union.
As far as contracts go, there are no contracts as strong and as lucrative as teamster contracts.
The grapes might be bitter but you either have to swallow them or spit them out. In other words... Get over your termination union girl. Now thats an LOL!

Now they're pushing this bill going thry Congress to have the Fed back up these multi-employer plans. Thats great, but seems I'd be paying to get my own pension. That money from the Fed will be coming out of my own taxes, and everyone elses. I don't like all the hand-outs from the past yr that the Fed gave out and now just because its me, I'm still not too keen on it.Someone in the end has to pay for all this shit. I've never been a "hooray for me and fuck everyone else" type guy, but to each his own

My Dad worked at 4 diffrrent union lines just to get his time in so he an retire. Because of Carter's derugalation many of our brother's and sister's have seen there )non LTLers close there doors. The EFCA would be the only way to replenish the #'s. But they would probably coose to stay outta CS. Also, even with a FED backing, it would only pay out a small %. I hope and pray it rebound because frieght was the one's who fought forr what we enjoy today. They are the foundation.

In some areas the International is organizing strongly back into the "core industry".......hooray!
Now if Farmer will stay on track in his declining desire for "killer - keller", perhaps he can keep his job and do some good, inadvertently!
As far as these campaigns.........there are some loose strings
Organizers tie them up quickly........
with any luck, should these campaigns be successful, the IBT admin will turn its attention toward pension contributors and leave the "money pit" bus yards alone!
