Members should be able to seek the truth while using this website as the tool to get the truth we all deserve. We all pay dues to Local 150 and should be able to depend on our Secretary Treasurer to set the example of acting as a strong labor leader. When our Secretary Treasurer performs acts that are unbecoming of a labor leader he or she must be held accountable. We as members should have pride in our Local, that pride is not there with Jim Tobin as our leader. With the many comments that are made on this topic it is very clear that he must be removed as the Secretary Treasurer. He is no diffrent than the other Secretary Treasurers that let there power and influence gain sexual favors which is disgraceful in any working environment. He has put our dues money in jeopardy and shows no concern towards the membership who has to fit the bill for his legal expenses if that is the case. Dues money is needed to defend the members from employers and sometimes for the same acts that he is accused of in the "members" Teamster office. If you are a Teamster member call the office and tell Jim to use his own money not our dues money. We didn't make him sexually harrass an office girl, we didn't make him create a hostile work environment. If there are 150 agents that support Jim and his actions you really are as guilty as he is and will be held accountable in due time. There are questions asked about our agent John Conley, nobody seems to know what happened to him. And yes, how did we get a freight agent instead of one of are own UPS members members to be an agent. There are a lot of unanswered questions out there, we can only assume that Jim likes it that way. He needs to go and go now!!!

I am not aware of this recent action against Jim Tobin. I am aware that I can read about the case on the court's website, but for the moment I choose not to. The reason is that many people, including women, look for opportunity to benefit from a lawsuit. they look for an opportunity to present itself. Until Jim Tobin is found guilty, or a verdict is found against him, then in my eyes he is innocent until proven guilty. Just like all of us are when accused of a wrong. Anyone can file a lawsuit.. that means nothing. Sadly in California, sexual harrassment does not take much to prove, and most accused men end up settling even though they committed no wrong.
As for me, Jim Tobin and Local 150 has consistently gone to great lengths to right an injustice. Including when I was accused by UPS for something that I hadn't done. Jim Tobin and Local 150 paid for the attorney, and fought aggressively to overturn a wrongful discharge and I was even awarded a full year of back pay. Again, I am up against the monster UPS legal team, and again Jim Tobin and Local 150 have authorized my legal defense. Whatever Jim Tobin may be involved in at the Local 150, it hasn't tainted his ability to make proper decisions for his members.
I stand behind him.

Read all the comments brother, then read the lawsuit, then read the comments again. Then you tell me about this man that calls himself a leader, an affair with Kim H, Teamster Blue Corvette, replacing experienced agents with non-UPS agents, I'm guessing your case was won by John Conley, who is no longer our agent. Jim replaced him with Mr. Inexperienced. You are right you are innocent until proven guilty, but he looks pretty damn guilty to me, but then again I don't have my head buried in the sand.
I dont stand behind him.

This guy and Dale Robbins must have attended a Jim Santangelo training session, the kind that doesn't charge the 500 thousand dollar fee until the lawsuit is meritoriously filed. Wonder if they had hidden cameras going too, or if they were horsecocks like Jim claimed he was-supposedly proven/captured for posterity on film.

Conley could not be fired, he was elected. If you want to know why he left, why don't you ask him or maybe your agent. Or would you rather bad mouth Tobin without any facts to support your position like several others here with some sort of axe to grind.

You read the law suit. BFD That does not mean he's guilty. Heard that the person suing was a lazy ass looking for a pay day.

Jim Tobin has already paid out $45,000 to a staffer a few years ago. Abusing his power of office to harass his employees is a very serious offense, legally and morally. He represents our Union to the community and our employers and he should be held to very high standards. Flashing pictures around of himself in bed with two women is disgusting and at the very least belittles the office he holds. There is no context in which this is acceptable.
For anyone who chooses to view the lawsuit you can do so at www.saccourt.com, click on view civil suits and put in the case number: 34-2009-00060500. You don't need to make a judgement, just be aware.

Tobin is just a wannabe compared to 848's "Big" Jim. $45,000 is a mere pittance, especially to those who agreed to cover Jim for it, just like I read here about the sissys who were said to have done the same with 'lil Dale Robbins and "B" at 315.

I've seen several posts here claimimg a $45,000 pay out to a staffer. As my user name implies, I deal only in facts. I see no facts here on a supposed 45K pay out. Anybody got a link to prove this 45K pay out? If 45K was paid, ther's a paper trail somewhere. Show me.

You're right. I found it. But it doesn't say what it was for. It says settlement, but what for? Doesn't the E board have to approve payments?

Perhaps I'm jumping to conclusions but, doesn't it seem odd so many members are voicing their opinion, yet some of them just signed up in the past few days, and they share a common screen name?? I am speculating just a bit, but it would almost appear that it's ONE person creating several screen names to give the appearance of MANY.
Just curious, but how many folks here found no fault with Former President Clinton and his sexual harrassment issues, and specifically the cigar and blue dress incident? Was this a forgiveable offense that was not a big deal for our former leader? Does anyone feel that our country's best interests were jeopardized by such lewd behaviour, or was this just another 'no big deal'?
Keep that in mind when accusing Jim Tobin of bad leadership based on a (so far) baseless accusation.

I am not defending lazy business agents. If you know one & have some examples you KNOW happened, great! Post em and expose his/her lazy ass.
What I object to is posting "I heard this" or "I heard that ... " with no evidence or back up or facts.
That's for old ladies with nothing better to do gossiping about the other old lady down the block.
As for the Local 150 lawsuit against Tobin, I've met the guy once and have no idea if its true or not.
The point has already been made that anybody can file a lawsuit, even with little or no evidence. If they win the lawsuit, thats a different story.

I would say if the other female co-workers who allegedly did sexual favors for Tobin were made to testify in court, it would still be very damaging to Tobin.
And it's a joke how part of his defense basically states that the plaintiff failed to use the grievance procedure and therefore the court is deprived of jurisdiction in this "matter".
It's also interesting that Tobin and the plaintiff are each using an attorney from the same law firm.
I wonder how many of Tobin's "buddies" at the Local 150 know about his bad behavior. I heard John Haas had dirt on Tobin, and this fits right in.
I think more Teamsters at UPS need to be aware of this Civil suit and should talk about it, and follow it as it progresses. After all, we are all paying Union dues and we should be informed on what our Local is up to, and why things are taking so long to get resolved around here.
