Did you hear that Randy went outside our union to hire an organizer when we have plenty of people here that pay dues into our union and have organized more than anyone Randy hired?
I don't know the people involved, but I do know that having paid dues for years does not necessarily make someone a successful effective organizer. Good organizers have to work 24/7, nights & week-ends. Many Union members are unwilling to do that.
Lots of people want a cushy Union job, sitting in an office for 8 hours a day. Very few people are good effective organizers.
We should be hiring the best people to do the work necessary to build our Union.

I agree, although in this particular case it's not even the truth that Ben is an "outsider". Ben was a steward at UPS for christsakes! He also worked at yellow as a casual. He moved out to Vegas for a while, so he went on withdrawal from Local 728 so he could join the local in Vegas when he was working at Roadway out there. He moved back, we hired him, and he came off of withdrawal. Ben had worked for TWO different unions as an organizer before he came to UPS and became a member of our local. Hell, I feel lucky that we have a working member that has that much experience.Ducan's slate member on the eboard knew this about Ben but continued spreading that lie about him being an outsider. Doesn't matter now though, it's over and RANDY WON.

Experience? Brother, how does what you stated count as experience in organizing? Are you saying that because he worked at 3 different union companies and moved multiple times he should be our local organizer? I've worked at UPS, Carolina and Atlanta Motor line, plus I've moved 4 times, but that doesn't make me an organizer. I hope yall didn't hire him based on what you just stated.
PS Why is this on the APWA forum?

I don't know why this ended up in the APWA forum. Maybe it was the untrue things said in an earlier post. Krash, if you read my post that you responded to I stated that Ben had worked as an organizer at two different unions prior to being a member of our local. THAT is the experience I am referring to.

10-4 good buddy. Hyuck, yuck, yuck.
Seems like "ready or not" should have started a new thread in T-Talk since this had nothing to do with an APWA meeting in ATL. I'm also curious as to why someone outta California, JC7, would be concerned about who Randy hires as our organizer.

I totally agree with you and we have people who pay dues into our local that have more experience yet weren't supporters of randy and that's why they weren't hired. Yes they have been to organizer training classes too.
UNION MAN NOT JUST A DUES PAYING MEMBER
