your statements are far from the facts.
health care rapidly declining? i have been a ups teamster for 28 yrs, have had one small change in that time and i have NEVER had to make an employee contribution for insurance, how about you survey everyone else in a non teamster job, compare insurance from top to bottom and get back to me, most insured dont even have a retiree plan and you say rapidly declining, give me a break.
work longer and harder for less? how can you work longer for less, unless you work off the clock and if you choose to work harder then thats your choice, the rest of us will stand stronger and continue to put in a fair days work for a fair days pay.
lousy representation? well you might be from a tdu local so your reps may be lousy, but if not quit whining, run for office yourself, help those at your workplace, you are the union, if you and your coworkers stick together you can become stronger and united, although it sounds like you just want to complain but not take on the responsibilities yourself, how about you just sit back like you have been doing and we will take care of you like always.
you also claim you were robbed of your wages, dont see how that is possible, we make more than anyone in the industry, receive $1 plus wages and a cola, still make no employee contributions for insurance, why dont you go to a truck stop and whine about what you have and check out their response, or better yet switch them jobs for a month and get back to me.
apwa like tdu is just a company/rtw plot made to divide the membership and the ignorance of some allow it to happen.
stay away from company driven scabs who have never done anything to help the membership, or just give them money and dont forget they will even let your SPOUSE donate.

I find the picture used on the front page of the forum of a crying baby very telling. Not for what the implied statement makes but for its confessions of the Teamster.Net bias.
Truth?
Facts?
Equity?
Brotherhood?
Not on this forum.
Seems if you don’t lock step with having your pension fleeced or don’t champion the robbing of UPS workers of their wages and benefits, you’re a cry baby. Yet, the real hypocrites are those that support this injustice directed towards UPS workers. There crying and shrill talk, laced with disinformation and excuses represent the biggest babies of them all.
It’s ok for UPS workers to work longer and harder for less but where are there sacrifices? Where do you hear them call for equity and justice in what is a grossly socialist pension system? Why aren’t they calling for pensions that has members getting out what they put in? Oh parish the thought.
Hoffas early pandering to UPS for more bailout money, aka, early negotiations, is undoubted designed to soften up the rank and file for an unprecedented sellout. A sellout that will go far beyond the day to day give backs and take always that occur at the grievance panels and far beyond the fleecing already goingon in the pension and an excuse to ramp up the crony jobs.
Why do UPS workers need the Teamster anyway? They get lousy and expensive representation. Health care benefits that are rapidly declining. A pensions system that relies on them paying in more and getting a whole lot less, for ever and ever.
What the posters of the baby picture can’t take is the realization that UPS workers don’t need the Teamsters or want them. A union yes but not this fat ass union whose sole objective is its own survival. The teamster’s motto is “what’s good for the teamster’s is good for the members.” WRONG!
A union of our own? Why not. Then we will see who’s crying now.
Teamster power, yea right.
