QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS!!!
Have any of you even tried going to the APWA website (ITSMYMAP.com) to ask these question?
Your asking the wrong people.
Go to the website, ask your question, and you'll get your answers from the people in charge!

And who would that be? The union busting attorney? I would think that someone who is backing this union would already KNOW the answers to the questions. Talk about the blind leading the blind.

If you go to the website ( ITSMYMAP.COM ), you'll find out who that might be.
If you had been to the website you wouldn't have these question.

I think a better question "TEAMSTERMAN" is WHO ARE YOU, and what is your official position with the Teamster union?
I strongly suspect that you are a Teamster official, which would explain all of your negative comments towards the APWA.

I posted this message this morning, central standard time.

sawman Posted: Tue Mar 01, 2005 11:25 pm Post subject:

This message follows, guessing central standard time.

sawman Posted: Wed Mar 02, 2005 12:28 am Post subject:

Then this message follows immediately after that one with about 12 hours difference and into the next day. All this in a 3 hour time span (central standard time). Could it be? Could we have 2 different people posting as sawman in different parts of the country? lol

And what would that question be? Am I a Teamster official? If you call being a union steward a "Teamster official", then yes I am. Now, try answering some the questions poised to you without all the double talk.

UPSsup,

Just look at these calculations of what UPS pays today, compounded annually at only 7% for 30 years.  Mind blowing isn't it?

Your Monthly Deposit for 30 Years of $ 760.00
for an Interest Rate of 7.000 % compounded Annually
With an Initial Amount of $ 8600.00:
Yr Mo Ending
Balance  Average
Balance
1 12 18614.60 12780.00
2 12 29330.22 22794.60
3 12 40795.94 33510.22
4 12 53064.25 44975.94
5 12 66191.35 57244.25
6 12 80237.35 70371.35
7 12 95266.56 84417.35
8 12 111347.82 99446.56
9 12 128554.77 115527.82
10 12 146966.20 132734.77
11 12 166666.43 151146.20
12 12 187745.68 170846.43
13 12 210300.48 191925.68
14 12 234434.12 214480.48
15 12 260257.10 238614.12
16 12 287887.70 264437.10
17 12 317452.44 292067.70
18 12 349086.71 321632.44
19 12 382935.38 353266.71
20 12 419153.46 387115.38
21 12 457906.80 423333.46
22 12 499372.88 462086.80
23 12 543741.58 503552.88
24 12 591216.09 547921.58
25 12 642013.81 595396.09
26 12 696367.38 646193.81
27 12 754525.70 700547.38
28 12 816755.10 758705.70
29 12 883340.55 820935.10
30 12 954586.99 887520.55

Final Savings Balance: $ 954586.99
Initial Investment plus Monthly Contributions: $ 282200.00
Total Interest Earned: $ 672386.99

That equals $954,586.00
Even a safe Tbill @ 4% would give you $38,183 a year in interest.  Then you decide how much of the principle you eat in a year.  Could you live long enough to spend it all at $7,000 a month?

Well, lets look a little closer. I'm a 15 year driver at 45 years of age. Lets start this year. So, instead of retiring in 10 years at 55 at around 2333.00 a month plus 401K and personal investments; I'll join your union, wait another 30 years and retire at 75 years of age and get 3181.00 a month plus 401k and personal investments (not counting any principle). Oh, I forgot to throw social security in there (if Bush doesn't fuck it all up first). But hell I'm in. I'll spent another 20 years in package car for that extra 848.00 a month. Hell just give me my walker and put a ramp on the side of that sucker and I'm off to the races.

PLEASE FEEDERS, CHANGE YOUR NAME!!

NO self respecting Feeder driver I know wants to sell out his brothers and sisters and retirees representing a scam like this. Do us a favor, and I am not being confrontational or inflammatory, just properly descriptive, change your name to traitor, scab, judas, UPS Management or Scam artist. These fit your plan that you are selling a lot better.

These guys do not have a clue about a Union and are only counting the dollar signs from the dollars sent by those gullible enough to trust an ''empty" post office box, ran by 'empty suits".

Brother Hoffa was a "Union busting attorney".

UPSsup,
Here is the second part of the question you asked. For this example I will use the SP500 average of 12.5% for the return of investments on the pension. Using the same amount that UPS is paying now for union pensions per month ($760).

Your Monthly Deposit for 30 Years of $ 760.00
for an Interest Rate of 12.500 % compounded Annually
With an Initial Amount of $ 8600.00:
Yr Mo Ending
Balance Average
Balance
1 12 19317.50 12780.00
2 12 31374.69 23497.50
3 12 44939.02 35554.69
4 12 60198.90 49119.02
5 12 77366.26 64378.90
6 12 96679.55 81546.26
7 12 118406.99 100859.55
8 12 142850.36 122586.99
9 12 170349.16 147030.36
10 12 201285.30 174529.16
11 12 236088.47 205465.30
12 12 275242.03 240268.47
13 12 319289.78 279422.03
14 12 368843.50 323469.78
15 12 424591.44 373023.50
16 12 487307.87 428771.44
17 12 557863.85 491487.87
18 12 637239.34 562043.85
19 12 726536.75 641419.34
20 12 826996.35 730716.75
21 12 940013.39 831176.35
22 12 1067157.56 944193.39
23 12 1210194.76 1071337.56
24 12 1371111.60 1214374.76
25 12 1552143.05 1375291.60
26 12 1755803.44 1556323.05
27 12 1984921.36 1759983.44
28 12 2242679.04 1989101.36
29 12 2532656.41 2246859.04
30 12 2858880.97 2536836.41

Final Savings Balance: $ 2858880.97
Initial Investment plus Monthly Contributions: $ 282200.00
Total Interest Earned: $ 2576680.97

As you can see, it would be almost $3 Million. So now lets take the $2,858,880 and put that in the Balanced Fund that pays about 6% a year. That would equal $171,532.80 of interest each year, and you would never touch the principle. And for those who can't count, that would be $14,294.40 a month! Hoffa was right, the amounts UPS is paying into union pension funds, are MORE THAN ENOUGH!

I believe Hoffa was a corporate attorney. I don't know what his field of specialization was in. But I don't think it was union busting.

Feeders is giving examples of what we could have had is Central States had invested our money wisely, and what a person with thirty more years in a well managed plan could have!

I could not believe what I read on that site, they could never, ever produce what they are claiming on pensions, it would take decades. The biggest joke is retiree health and welfare. Pay what the company was paying? That's about 4 times as much as the retiree health coverage in my Local. It is totally impossible to promise a pension benefit from a fund that doesn't even exist, let alone this bunch of B.S.. I usually do not respond to threads unless someone needs help, but this is the biggest bunch of Horse Crap I.ve ever seen.
