The only reason that UPSers would join the APWA is because they feel that the Teamsters have not adequately represented them or they feel that they will not get the pension that they deserve. I don't think it is an issue of loyalty but an issue of if the UPSers feel that they have gotten a bad deal from the union. Watch the numbers of the total of the votes and this will tell the tale, if the tally is under 400,00, then this union is not doing well, if it is over 500,000 then we have a better chance to encourage more members to actually participate in this union by voting.

APWA is an assault on unionism. These sleazy, anti labor blunt skull union busters are forever devising ways to destroy the labor movement in this country. It really just makes the fight that more enjoyable and worthwhile. The founder of UPS actually ask the teamsters to organize them BACK IN THE EARLY DAYS and I think they (TEAMSTERS)have done a wonderful job. When you can retire at 20, 25 or 30 years of service with this company, what does that tell you? This RETIREMENT PACKAGE did not happen out of the goodness of UPS's heart, it was negotiated by the TEAMSTERS.

Anyone who thinks that another union can negotiate with UPS like the Teamsters is sadly mistaken. Don't you see these people for what they really are? Union Busters with a bullshit scam. Fragmented unions is what they seek. Easier to fleece you when you are fragmented. I've been around way too long to be fooled by these sleaze balls. People had better wake up and smell the coffee, stand by your union, make it stronger and turn your back on these snake oil salesmen.

Barleycorn, 36 year Teamster in the brewing industry. I've seen some shit!

I think our problem is that we have too many youngsters who have yet to have a grasp on the way things are and how unions work. I'm not trying to belittle anyone for not understanding how unions fight for working people but young people are susceptible to outside influence more so than a veteran who has experienced labor strife first hand and knows just how underhanded union busters, and management can be. Veterans like Tom Kiegal know how these pricks operate. he has seen it all and not the least bit swayed by it. The fight is no different today than in the past. It is a battle of minds. Some people are swayed by false promises and led to believe that these union busters have their best interests in mind but you better wake up to the fact that they only have theirs, and the GOONS they work for interests in mind.

Grab a few beers and get your courage up to blast people you would not have the balls to do in a face to face situation. No real debate, just insults and put downs. Is this what this blog is all about? Come on people, let's get away from this kind of buffoonery and debate.

This is SO much bull. These people might as well fart in a tornado than to think they can replace the Teamsters. Wishful thinking you guys. Working people are scaring the hell out of these enemy's of labor and they will realize that their efforts or futile.
