I have worked for UPS for over 7 years and I am the local shop steward. Currently we have a hub employee incarcerated and hence he has asked me about Teamster bail assistance. I have not heard of this, but I have been trying to gather info so that I can pass on the required steps to the individual.
We have called our local and they told us to call our legal services that is supplied to our members. Once we called the 'legal services' they told us to call the Teamster local. Basically they're giving me the run around, so I was wondering if you guys knew anything about teamster bail assistance,(who's responsible etc...) so I can try to be a helpful steward. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Some Local Unions used to have relationships with bail bonds outfits in their areas bu those were usually set up during periods of turmoil during which numerous arrests occurred. sounds as though you have exhausted available avenues and that no special accommodations exist in your area for bail bonds access. Its most always a Local arrangement. -------------------- alex y.

In most cases if your crime is victimless or slightly honorable and you are a good union brother, you teamster friends and co workers will chip in to try to help you out. That's all I know about teamster bail assistance.

I believe the John McCain campaign committee uses two reputable law firms so you might want to check them out.
The first is Dewey, Cheatem & Howe. If that doesn't work try Sue, Grabbitt and Runne. But, not sure they handle bail bonds. |
