I'm a very happy member to report that our Local is striving forward in all areas! Organizing,Negotiations,representation. Unlike other Locals, 879 executive Board is strong and works as a team!

Just recently Wayne Gibson retired as our Vice-Preseident and has join the ranks of retirement. Wayne being the past President of Local 141 in London has been a true leader going through the merger and until the day he gave notice to retire was gentlemen with honer!

Today comes with great news that Jim Chalmers has been appointed as Vice-President for the rest of the elected term. Jim will bring true experince, positve leadership,dedication to the job. Jim is also respected by many union leaders within Ontario and internationally ! Even off side locals in Ontario repect Jim for getting the position.

Jim as member of 879 I will pleased to shake your hand at the next general meeting in September!

How can you sleep at night John??? now that Joe McLean has given notice too retire also you crave for his job or his wife??

John and Joe are going too HAWAII this late fall on health and welfare course???????? Joe another all paid vacation and not show upto scheduled classes and John your in the same boat as well////////////

Barb was long our BA before I ever heard of her. But, it wasn't her that's the issue, I heard. In London, they had an election for a chief steward, and the former chief conducted the election. I guess he took the ballot box home with him for lunch, and when he came back to do the last 2 hours of voting Sa and the count, magically the guy he wanted to succeed him did, by a large margin, even though nobody claims to have voted for him.

I really shouldn't be surprised though. I guess Teamsters Canada has lost it's balls as far as fighting the employers, and decided to take the easy way out and screw the employees as much as they can. Sad.

The Company of UPS world wide could if they wanted swallow Purolator up if they wanted too! They have BILLIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If not Trillions!!!!!!!!!!!!
