Would you believe a union representative can cost a Local money to defend him in 2 lawsuits, get terminated by our ex-Secretary-Treasurer, then get re-hired by a new Secretary-treasurer?

Richard DeVries (Hoffa-Hater) was hired by our Ex- Secretary-Treasurer, while working for Local 705 he caused our Local a lot of money by his hot headed temper. Two moving companies filed lawsuits against Local 705. Local 705 had to pay a lot of money to settle these lawsuits. When the lawsuits were settled our ex-Secretary-Treasurer terminated Richard DeVries.

When Stephen Pocztowaski was elected as Secretary-Treasurer of Local 705 he re-hired Richard DeVries (hoffa Hater). Since DeVries came back to Local 705 The DOL has found him, guilty of discrimination and that cost Local 705 more money. More charges have been filed with the DOL against DeVries. I heard the DOL board has found DeVries guilty of FAILURE TO REPRESENT THE MEMBER and working with the employer. Wasn't that the reason Billy Hogan and Dane Passo were barred from the teamsters for life? Goodby Hoffa Hater.

Don't you believe Steve Pocztowski is incompenant for re-hiring this TDU hot head? I believe it is time for Steve Pocztowski and Richard DeVries to go. I believe other elected 705 union officials will be found guilty by the DOL.

Interesting 007, keep us informed. Word was TDU was expanding to other locals [673,325 ect.] to make a run at Joint council 25.

I was told the IRB has already been sent all of the information on Local 705. Local 705 has a few Tear Down Union members. It appears that company lovers like DeVries are on their way out. I believe Local 705 has a lot of headaches coming up for not representing the members. I will keep you posted. In a few days I will report about information I received about a elected trustee in Local 705 telling the member he couldn't do anything about a employer sending a written notice to the member because his son died and he was so upset he went home early. As soon as I receive all of the facts I will post the information.

On July 22, 2008 the NLRB charged Local 705 because of the actions of Richard DeVries. They were charged with interfearing with the rights of a union steward and entering into a repugnant "Memorandum of Understanding" against the steward. The employer and union were charged with serveral violations of the federal law. WHAT ELSE CAN WE EXPECT BY A TDU XSS-OLE

Unfortunately for our members, DeVries has been seen going in and out of our local. TDU assholes like him and Roger Kohler's "Reformers" stick together I guess.

It's a shame all TDU rats stick together. TDU locals make room when they are kicked out of aiother

Well i have been sitting back waiting for this story to unfold on here. All i have seen is accusations with no substance and or proof. This is nothing more than a few people that are still un happy that steve is in power. While you might not like everyone on the slate personally, this is the best combination to ever run this local.

Its funny when people get upset with something all they have to do is tag someone tdu and everyone comes running to destroy them for it. I believe its time you put up or shut up! Explain what you mess is so everyone here can see if you were wronged or if you are just another nut job!

One tdu catch phrase comes to mind, an injury to one is an injury to all. If in fact 007 has been wronged wouldnt the whole membership have been wronged according to tdu?

You state that people are too quick to tag someone tdu when they get upset with something, yet you quickly to try to label 007 as a nut job in the same paragraph. Doesnt that make you a hypocrite?

The main problem with this site is anyone can come on here and say whatever they want about someone without any proof. I have sat back and watched this thread out of respect for 007. He has a decent rep for being one of the better posters on this site. But cmon months have gone by and if he has inside info on what he speaks of i believe its time for him to share so others can come to judgement. Instead it appears we will beat on rich because of his tdu beliefs which makes him guilty in your eyes because of your hatred for tdu.

I am not tdu and i do have a problem with them bashing the teamsters and never pointing out the good that is done. But could you imagine what hoffa would get away with if tdu wasnt here to point it out?

Those of us who know of Richard DiVries believe the accusations presented on this site are possible. As far as convicting the man that is up to the powers that be.

Do you know why rich was fired by zero? Zero was running all over town with leedham if you remember. Zero was running again and leedham was running against hoffa and zero used all of the leedham supporters to win his election here. But when the time came to endorse a canidate he supported hoffa. Now remember this is the same sob (zero) that carey put in charge of the local. Rich refused to flip flop and back hoffa so then zero fired him.

I see people post on here all the time that their union is not worth anything and that the agents dont represent them. Now yes rich can be a little high strung, but he knows his shit and he has the balls to back it up!

Back when steve won they came up with the idea to educate the stewards for the future. This meant sending us to school for labor law classes, arbitrations, organizing, contract enforcement. People were saying that stewards didnt need to get educated on these issues. But rich and steve and the boys kept sending us. Now its paying off, as of ratification of our ups contract we will have a sitting arbitrator at panels. Now the stewards have the tools to prepare, argue and close these hearings against company labor attorneys. This is because of rich and when i see people slander with no proof i will call them on it. Our members in 705 are better off now than 5 years ago because of agents like rich!
