You should probably lie down until the feeling passes! When you're feeling better you can start looking for a job where they treat you better than pond scum.

I was thinking of trying to get a job with UPS also. Is it really that bad? I've always heard UPS is a great company to drive for. How hard is it to get hired. I work for a company in Stockton CA that treats us like shit and our local (890) is so week and lays down to them and doesn't seem to care about our shop. Like our hourly pay is $4-5 less then all the other union shops around us. And my union rep told me that's all they can get us.

So I want to find another job, but I want to stay union. The problem is I had a DUI 2.5 years ago. Do you think I could get a job with UPS?

Thanx for any info brothers.

Not driving. You would have to wait at least 3 years. You could probably work there PT till the time passes.

Try the freight division. It is UPS in name only. Barely that! icon_eek.gif

I think I'll wait till my three years, I only have to January. I dont want to do over the road because I have my first kid on the way, due Dec 5th. Maybe I'll get a part time gig with UPS in the warehouse on top of my full time job I have now. Anybody know what they pay in the Stockton are for warehouse and tracter drivers? I'll be so glad to get away from my local(890) and get into the 439.

I think a lot of people on here make things out to be much worse than it really is.

Pros: Where can you go and make 70 grand a year with High School education. Great benefits. 5 weeks vacation after 20 years. Not being in an office all day being around stupid sups. Senority rules so they can't lay you off and let some ass kisser work over you. 30 year pension.

Cons: Dealing with the heat during summer with no AC. Long hours. A lot of OT. Getting home late and missing kids ball games. You will hate Christmas time of the year. Putting up with stupid decisions by sups. I am sure their are a few more I am missing but these are just the high spots.

UPS also treats people without the respect they deserve after 18 years of quality service. Remember, you are just another throw away cog in the UPS machine, to say the least! Trev, please think long and hard about being a UPSER. I feel I have not been treated in a fair manner for the last five months.

I am having an intention of an ups pointer driver. So I think your ideas may indulge a lot of knowledge if a clear explanation is given out. Thus a clear idea is required .

Don't forget that you miss dinner with the family. You come home eat, shower go to bed and get up and do it all over again.
