Is it just me or is it every summer the stops go up? They go to cutting routes and load everyone up hoping they pass out. The forced OT in the contract is not good enough. 3 days of over 9.5 in one week and you get to file? Hoffa let us down big time. They can work you 9.5 everyday and you can't do shi# about it? Was over 100 here the past 4 days and they abuse the hell out of us........

Brother,
I HATED the summer. And it is insane how management will rake you over the coals about #'s when your melting in the back. Yes, we need a 9.5 rule without loop holes. It is insanely hot this time of year, especially in the south.

The route cutting that goes on this time of year could actually be a good thing. It gives you the option to work inside or taking a day off without pay. I always work and sometimes working inside is a step back from driving because I work in a small extended center and the heat doesn't linger and make the building feel like hell like in the hubs. I'd rather drive but sometimes I don't mind a break from the heat. I can work inside on mondays if their aren't many people on vacation.

Just an idea...Slow way down, real regular... Being tired from the heat and the accumulated fatigue you have very good reasons to do so: safety purposes. It is a well known fact that there are more accidents when it's real hot.
I'm willing to bet they will get tired of paying you mega OT hours before you do!!!
