It seems that Sec. Tres. Shawn Dougherty, the BIGGEST opponent of nepotism before he was "elected", has now decided to join in on the fun with the rest of the gang. Shawn's father, who is not a member of this local, is all of a sudden working on a movie. Now if this would have happened while Shawn was one of us working men, the answering service for the IRB would have been full of messages from him. He is becoming more and more of a little hypocrite everyday!

If I was an official, I would have all my friends on the hook up too ! Just keeping it real ! That's just the problem! Officials are supposed to do the RIGHT thing, not just abuse their political power. Shawn Dougherty was the guy that hated nepotism until he got the chance to use it. Now all of a sudden it's OK? What a little hypocrit! Kilroy, maybe you shouldn't be an official either. Just keeping it real. |

Let's here your solution ? I don't have a solution, but, I know that NEPOTISM IS NOT IT! I'm smart enough to know that I don't have all the answers and that I should not be an official, but, I vote for the people that I think have the answers and should be officials. You see I don't cast my vote for political reasons, I vote for who I think is the best for the job. I would never vote for a whole slate just because someone wants me to (like alot of people did last election). If I don't like an individual candidate then I split my ballot. |

I would think that going to laid off members first would be the right thing to do. If all are working in local I personally don't see a problem with family getting those jobs as long as it the same for membership family also.

The problem is that Dougherty strongly opposed nepotism before his family could benefit from it. He has become what he despised for years! The other thing is that it is NOT "the same for membership family also", unless your name is Conway, or related to a Conway, or married to a Conway, or somehow tied to a Conway. And in that case it still sounds like nepotism for the Conways if you ask me, since they are the ones that pretty much run tradeshow and theater work in the city. My question is, if Dougherty's father ( or anyone elses family ) needs work then why don't they go and work at anyone of the many barns that are using casuals on a daily basis? |

Not to be a wise guy but have you ever worked on the movies. If you have you know the reason why he was put to work on them. -------------------- If your not going to fight for it no one is going to give it to you. So put your gloves on.

When members are out of work they get the work at the theaters, shows etc... Word on the street is that DHL members worked on a show or theater when they didn't work at DHL that day and on the weekend too! THE PROBLEM IS THAT THEY DIDN'T WORK BECAUSE THEY WERE GREEDY SENIOR MEN THAT RAN OUT OF HOURS !!! SOME MEMBERS ARE SITTING HOME 2 OR 3 DAYS A WEEK AND THESE LOWLIFES THAT WORKED TOO MANY HOURS GET REWARDED WITH MORE WORK!!! That must be the great job that the APPOINTED Eastern V.P. does for his membership. WHAT A FUCKING JOKE!!! |

MONK,if that is true and I have no reason not to believe you, that is fucked up ! $75 large isn't enough for them at DHL they need more ! You know what monk there might be a method too this madness, once DHL has had enough in the United States of losing money these creaps will slide right in on this work ! This is the break in period for them getting on the list ,kind of a get use too my creap face being around dry run ! Its very clear that certain members are entitled to 80k or more a year at any expense and have no shame extracting it! Just because these whores were offered it, doesn't mean they had too take it ,but what am I saying, thats not what whore's do ! |

Just because these whores were offered it, doesn't mean they had too take it ,but what am I saying, thats not what whore's do ! It's true and you know it! This has been going on for years. I remember a few years ago a certain Case Paper driver being called for work at some sort of show or event on a weekend, knowing full well that there were members that were not working steady. Now we all know that the Case Paper drivers get close to or over their 60 every week. What I am waiting to see is if DHL has the layoffs that I am hearing about, where are those guys going to end up? It sure won't be the senior guys that ran out of hours being laid off. And if what you say about DHL having enough in the United States happens, are these creaps going to go to the top of the blow job line before the other ballwashers that have been on the protien diet for years? EITHER WAY, IT SURE WILL BE INTERESTING!!! |
