I have added a Points system to TeamsterNet.
Now for every Topic and Reply you get points that can be spent on changing your Avatar or changing your Signature. If you have enough points you can even spend them on giving another member a 'Title' of your choosing. We also have a case of Hats that need to be given away so every member that accrues 1000 Points will get a free TeamsterNet Hat. I will try to get a pic of the Hats up soon. You can check out all of the aspects of the Points System here or just click the link up top on navigation bar named "Points". Hope you and your Father (who many Teamsters in Joint Council 7 still tell fond stories of today, and whom I first heard about in Joint Council 3 in the middle of the New Mexico desert [of all places] many, many years ago from a WCT Organizer) have the absolutely most rewarding Memorial Day that you so richly deserve! Please keep up the great work, Brother! Please take my points and donate them to any rank and file Teamster Brother of your choosing. So that one of the whining crybabies will not complain, or question your personal integrity, VJ's personal integrity, or that of anyone else affiliated with T net. While I fight, argue, bicker etc. with Brother Larry Parker over his affiliations with TDU members, his personal integrity has never been an issue with me here on T net. In fact, I was looking today at the new links he has added to T net, and I was quite impressed! Local 492, Local 853, Local 70, Local 856, Local 710, Local 696, Local 705, Local 714, Local 743, and many of the Local's in JC 25, JC 3, and JC 7 and other JC's. I am VERY impressed. Especially by all the new links! Who would have envisioned, Brother Phil, when you first came to the AOL Teamster Bulletin Board ten years ago and contacted many of us to help you drum up support and exposure for T net (remember your rival? www.teamster.com at the time, which was basically selling Teamster items only?) that it would evolve in to what it is today? Links to employment law, the NRLA, the LMRDA - place (and I'm constantly AMAZED by stufff like this time and time again when I find it exploring the links) where Brother Chuck Mack operates a web site as a Western Region Vice President, where you can e-mail him and he'll actually find the time to answer your questions! That speaks volumes on what kind of Teamster Brother Mack really is. I visited that website and was FLOORED by all the Teamster worksites in Local 70 he visited in one month alone, personally. How this Brother finds the time to do all this is beyond me, I think he may have secretly invented a 36 hour day and is not telling the rest of us! Brother Parker has done an absolutely extraordinary job of creating this links system. Despite our political differences (which are about as far apart as the North and South Pole are in polarity) I have to give it to the Brother, commend him for the excellent job he's done in making these kind of resources available to our Teamster Brothers and Sisters. It empowers them. More than most will ever know, realize, or appreciate. Well I for one appreciate all the hard work, sacrifices, dedication, commitment and Teamster talent that you Brothers have displayed on T net for the last ten years. And I know many rank and file Teamster Brothers and Sisters who do as well. Thank you all! Now I finally get rewarded for my posts. It's about fricken time. I only have one problem. I think the points should be retroactive .... say one point for every post. I would get 8,169 points! That's fair. Whooopppeeee! |
