Word On The Street In Philly Is That Local #331 Was Put Into Trusteeship Today And That Bill Hamilton From Local #107 Was Sent Down To Deliver The Bad News To Joe Yeoman The President Of Local #331.

Anybody Have The Real Scoop On This???

It's bullshit. He's there, but not for a trusteeship. Nor should he be. 331 can handle their own affairs.

Thanks, I heard it's something about being behind on their per capita and other expenses. Nothing criminal, just a result of a declining membership. I think it's a riot the punk, commie scab,"hoffa the corrupt" sent hamilton there as a monitor. Is his salary going to be drawn from local 331 cofers? How does that help them? Who's going to monitor hamilton? I think it's really funny that Frankie didn't know what was going on once again.

How true. Who would have ever thought labor could have fallen, so far, so fast since John's ouster. And it's not just the Teamsters. Look at the turnout now at the Labor Day parade and how little coverage it now gets from the media. Why do you think the punk, commie scab,"hoffa the corrupt" keeps putting it up gillen's ass? gillen didn't even know what was going on? he thought it was a trusteeship. What does that tell you about gillen's standing with this administration? Is the only reason the prick got the vice presidency because he kicked in about $8,000 to the commie scab's campaign? Has the value of being a vice president in our union fallen that much? Doesn't say much about this administration, does it? Whers the esteem when the vice presidency can be bought for under $8,000. gillen pays more than that to the bookies weekly.

Hey frankie, when are you going to let everyone know what happened here? Or have you gotten your orders from above to keep your mouth shut? This is just signs of things to come in JC53.

Hey frankie, instead of dancing in the streets celebrating gillen getting sworn in, maybe you can tell us about local 331. Why is there a black out of information about this? Maybe you would rather talk about what impact the indictment of Sen. wayne bryant holds for gillen and the punk commie scab,"hoffa the corrupt"? Do you think bryant will not spill all facing 20 years in the joint for each count? I think brady will do the same thing yeoman does and cops a plea. And they both have some of the same things to talk about. What a coincidence? Won't it be even funnier when bob brady gets indicted? I bet that put a damper on your party. Let's watch how fast gillen goes from the top of the heap, to three hots and a cot icon_wink.gif .

This all sounds so very familiar. Id doesn't appear like there is IRB involvement. Seems to me, if Joe is guilty of what he is being accused of, criminal charges should be filed. Could be just another politically inspired railroad job. Wonder what Joe did to get on the wrong side of the punk commie scab,"hoffa the corrupt"?

Nobody posted on this topic since it happened, eh? Well there was much talk (rumors, mostly) about trying to finish the '89 job of revoking the #331 charter and splitting the barns up between 676 and the Philly locals, selling off our state of the art union hall, etc, etc. But I think as of this week those rumors were laid to rest. This local has needed assistance for quite some time in the areas of organizing, fighting off the other unions from raiding, taking on management and backing it up, and it appears we are finally going to receive that very much needed help. I'll not elaborate on that any further at this time but anyone in the know knows that we should take what we recently learned and feel good from it-- We're going to be alright. A much better solution than splitting us up, and not having a local union hall down here. The other unions would eat us alive. There would be no Teamsters down here after long. Put the financial house in order, and I cannot stress enough... While we have the International's support and resources, to take advantage of them and launch a serious organizing campaign here. Any volunteers please contact Tony Frasco at Local 331.

From what I can gather as I roamed this forum, we have not been THE weakest link in the chain lately, but not far off. We have all lost members, what remains is US, the die-hard, "no one's gonna bust up my local", I'll pay dues even when I'm not working, Teamsters for life. I'll never give up on this Union, this local, or the labor movement-- what we're down to is a bare-bones membership, members who want to be members. Members who are proud to be Teamsters, and this seems to be echoing throughout the Council as I read. Let's pick up and build from that.
