Today I went to the Teamsters/LOngshoreman unity rally at the Oakland Ca port. THere I was introduced to Brother Hoffa. When I offered him a free Black Thursday Shirt with the bold message on its back"END UPS PART TIME POVERTY" he briefly took the shirt then returned it and said he already had one in his office. Later Hoffa sounding like a great union leader rather than an attorney like tdu critics charge gave a great speech. LIke Ive said before on this forum people should discount the well intentioned but sometimes misguided tdu propaganda and give brother Hoffa the benifit ofthe doubt and your support.Black thursday bumper stickers that read "END UPS PART TIME POVERTY " will be coming soon. WE will distribute the first five thousand for free at SF bay area hubs and centers,then to each large metropolitan area. Eventually within five years most of America will have seen the slogan"END UPS PART TIME POVERTY" THe BT committee fully supports brother HOffa and hopes our efforts will assist him and his team in reducing part time poverty over the next couple of contracts.One step at a time ,but always forward.

I wanted to get my local involved however local 542 hasn´t heard of the black thursday shirts ...
Maybe you could educate them on the issue??

tonia: maybe the confusion is the fact that the Teamsters at local 542 refer to it as the "Keep Kim Cotter living the high life" T-shirts.

tonia and ev erybody , obviously either upssup cant read the fact that all proceeds go to funding the bumper stickers or he is agan libeling poor kim.. perhaps he should show up for the brie and chardonay but then someone might be tempted to rid the world of this rat with some decon in his food.Im told Bear Valley is a mob ski resort run by a famous actor.

I don´t see where I´ve said anything about "poor Ms. Kim" the fact remains that Ms. Kim has clearly said she lives at a ski lodge which is not normally considered representative of the blue collar teamster she attempts to identify with but more so representative of the blue bloods she claims to fight. She charges "poverty stricken" part timers twice the going rate for T-shirts she claims will help her fight part time poverty. She claims to be fighting part-time poverty yet has chosen only one company to fight ;that one being one of the few that actually offers beni´s and a pension plan to part-timers. She does not ship her packages thru that company instead choosing to ship post office and then has the audacity to claim there is no ups pickup at her ski lodge. Apparently she does not realize that by choosing to ship thru a UPS competitor she promotes rather than fights this part-time poverty. No my friend I believe Kim has done a superb job of libeling her own self.
